why is it such a S & B faux pas to wear black boots with blue denim?

Hmmm. I think it can look ok but I would only wear black boots / blue denim (skinnies only) with high heeled boots and, say, a pussy bow blouse in a kinda Charlies Angels style. But I mostly wear brown boots (conker colour) with blue denim.

Black Ankle boots and boot cut jeans = No No No! But that's a whole other thread! Grin

yeah they were skinnies i tried on with mine, (flat boots). however in the past i have worn blue skinnies with high heeled knee high boots and at the time i thought i looked good.

at thought of black ankle boots and boot cut jeans!

I think that it is a bit of an old fashioned rule. You see lots of 'stylish' celebs wearing blue denim and black boots eg. Kate Moss, Victoria Beckham, Elle Macpherson.

It's just a bit 90's Jason Donovan/Kylie Minogue style innit.

There's just no need. Conker colour boots are d-i-v-i-n-e.

It isn't a S&B faux pas, it's just a stupid MN faux pas. Wear whatever the hell you like.

It's only a faux pas if you're a nutter. It looks fine if the denim is fairly dark.

Nothing wrong with it if you're combining, say, black biker/cowbow/military/pixie boots with skinny blue jeans.

Agree black ankle boots with bootcuts a BIG no. Especially of the block heel and slightly chisled toe variety. With hems slightly too short. (shudder).

What a load of cobbler.

I worry about MN sometimes, I really do.

I lived in my skinny blue jeans and flat black boots all winter last year. I looked ace if it's a fashion faux pas then you must all be mingers that can't pull off the I don't give a fuck look Grin

And it also assumes that you can afford to buy different boots for different outfits. If I buy black boots for work then I can't justify a pair of brown boots specifically for jeans. That's the bit that really pisses me off.

It's only fashion and therefore 'fun'. No need to get knickers in twist or give a fuck really! It doesn't really matter.

Black boots and blue jeans rock, like all looks, when done properly and worn with pizzazz.

And the naysayers can fuck the fuck off Grin

I don't do it because it makes me feel like am wearing a policewoman's uniform. Not that I have anything against them, it just feels a bit...uniformy.
