Best eyelid primer?

TracyK · 16/09/2011 14:02

I need something to stop my eyeshadow creasing. I am using a Frontcover shadow base - but find it a bit 'draggy' when applying. Although it works well once on.

Is there a less draggy one out there?

Laura Mercier does a really good one I use. Smile

I got some Benfit Stay don't Stray primer that I like. I got it as it was 25% off though, it's not cheap.

I just use it to even out my eyelid colouration though (makes me look more awake) so can't comment on how it works as a proper primer. It dries nicely though so should be fine.

Pump is a bit tricky at first (you end up with loads) but I go the hang of it in the end.

No contest - it's the Urban Decay eyeshadow primer.

I vote for Urban Decay

I second Laura Mercier, it's got great staying power and the tube lasts forever. Also, thought it's not really a primer, the MAC paint pots are great, there's a nude coloured one called Bare Study which too stays on forever and acts both as an eyeshadow or a base.

another one for urban decay. It's amazing.

I have a Mac paint pot in groundwork which also acts as a primer ;)
I find this good too ;)

Urban decay. Kept my eyeshadow on and crease free for 16 hours on NYE

Another one for urban decay: and if you want a bit of colour I recommend the urban decay primer potion in sin - makes eyes look nice and fresh too

The Urban Decay one is excellent but I've stopped buying it because I hate the design so much. Not yet found a replacement though.

Remus, I had a bit of an epiphany with Urban Decay the other day when I tried to replace my run out (and awkwardly shaped) primer potion and they've got squeezy tubes now which means no more wastage and hacking open the bottle shape.

What colour of UD girls? I went to get it online - but looks like 4 (?) colours to choose from?

Yes, v keen to get this now... what colour for fair/blonde/blue eyes please?

For me its benefit lemon aid - by a mile. I am medium/light complexion with blue eyes but this really is universal, and lasts all day - one tiny pot does me daily use for over 10 months x

The UD I use is in a lilac tube and called Eyeshadow Primer Potion. And yes the new squeezy tubes are so much better.

Don't you find the lemon aid creases Chici? I love the idea and the shade but just end up with a line above my eyelid. Am I doing something wrong?

Lemonaid creases on me too, Barb. Bastard stuff.

Reckon you've got Original then moonshine.

Thanks Pinot, glad it's not just me then!

i tried Too Faced Shadow Insurance, as I'd run out of UD, and it's nowhere near as good -you can't blend very well.
