have never been shopping in city centre before. I have already shopped the entire Trafford centre o no avail so am looking for more boutique independent shops. Please point me in the right direction smile

What's your budget?!

Hop on the train and get yourself to Leeds - much better, in my humble opinion.

fannybanjo Mon 12-Sep-11 22:18:01

Or Liverpool.... grin

Fisharefriendsnotfood Mon 12-Sep-11 22:23:26

Really? Budget very flexible. Just need to look amazing grin

Must be very dressy and not boring. And hide mummy tummy. Where do I need to be?

fannybanjo Mon 12-Sep-11 22:26:51

the worlds your oyster then if flexible budget however boutiques not my strong point! Is it designer budget or high street budget?

Fisharefriendsnotfood Mon 12-Sep-11 22:29:14

I normally shop French connection / Karen millen. Am willing to push the host out. Prob not more that five hundred at a push though. I'm in Preston but can travel.

I'd say you'd be better going to Harvey Nichols or Selfridges and asking personal shopper for help. They'd show you cheaper and expensive dresses you'd probably not look at usually.

fannybanjo Mon 12-Sep-11 22:31:58

What about net-a-porter? You looked on there?

fannybanjo Mon 12-Sep-11 22:32:59

I'll meet you and find you something!! wink. I love shopping for other people!

Fisharefriendsnotfood Mon 12-Sep-11 22:37:22

I did selfridges and was Harvey nicks not really really expensive and pretensious? Where are you fanny?

fannybanjo Mon 12-Sep-11 22:38:56

I'm in Chester, from Liverpool originally. To be honest I'd try Liverpool too. What's the occasion?

Fisharefriendsnotfood Mon 12-Sep-11 22:42:49

fannybanjo Mon 12-Sep-11 23:06:10

If I were you I'd go for amazing shoes and jewellery and simple but stunningly sexy fitted dress. Let me have a think where I've seen nice dresses recently.... Any particular colour?

fannybanjo Mon 12-Sep-11 23:09:51

Have a gander on net-a-porter at shoes. I'll be honest - I've been to couple weddings recently and some of the women have had dresses worth £££ and looked no better than anyone else however good shoes.... Worth the money IMO. A dress from high end high street which maybe you have tailored to you by dressmaker so it fits like a glove will be just as good.

Fisharefriendsnotfood Mon 12-Sep-11 23:10:24

I like bright bold colours. Not cream with it being a wedding. I LOVE shoes wink

Fisharefriendsnotfood Mon 12-Sep-11 23:18:48

Btw the shoes need to be strapped on or else I can't walk in them

fannybanjo Mon 12-Sep-11 23:22:26

Now if we're discussing strap ons....grin

I'll have a little think. I was looking at dresses the other day and to be honest, there's not much about - all a bit "meh"

Fisharefriendsnotfood Mon 12-Sep-11 23:25:19

Exactly. So so dull. And just boring. Thanks grin

Don't forget me!

I've been trying to think of boutiques in Manchester - there must be some but can't think of any! You could try House of Fraser and I'd go to Reiss if I wasn't worried about the cost. Hope you find that dress! smile
