Mind you, most things listed as 'midi' seem to be knee length, it's weird.

Just below knee length suits me best, so I'm happy with midi

the flarey ones, it seems oyu have to stand knock kneed - chung style and look cluless and quirky for them to work

I tried a tight one and it looked good I was surprised I like the full ones but wouldn't suit me

horrible horrible horrible

hate the gathered waist look as well - as unless you're skinny it'll bulge out like a cake frill

midi doesn't look good unless you're 18 and everyone KNOWS you're doing it to be fashionable

channelling pensioner chic never looks good.

It's not for the fainthearted or over 25 (unless you're REALLY working it).

This kind of thing is easier to wear

Awful on me for sure.

And frumpy, I think, on anyone with reasonable posture

In theory am very keen but have yet to try one on that suits me.

I think I'd just look like a frumpy old mum in one. {checks self in mirror} Hmm better go and get one. It'll suit me down to the ground.

I blame sodding sex and the city

now every high street store thinks women want to look like they're channelling Carrie Bradshaw ffs

Yes like a long pencil skirt in tweedy material.Lovely for winter with ankle boots and jumper I think. The full ones only look good on twigs.

That black thing is awful, is a skirt? is it an old lady slip? is it a net curtain?

And as for that beige gold, crushed velvet, slash neck, cowl back creation - frightening.

i think it's nice to have something different in a sea of crapness which is the high street at the moment. really uninspiring

Am over 40. Have got one thats blue and pleated. Love it. Get complimented on it. Will continue to wear it! In fact, will probably buy another for winter.

Librarian chic, innit!

I don't understand these long sheer skirts, with a short/mini slip underneath. It just looks daft. It's one short step to the return of skorts

Pencil skirts are great for those who can pull them off. I have two identical ones from Gap - I look awesome, and they can do great things for your butt.

But they need a heel to look truly great
