Louboutin shoes

It's my cousin's birthday and her husband has promised her a pair of Louboutins. She is pretty conservative in her dress, 5'8" and wants a plainish court. They seem to do them in black or beige, and in patent or ordinary leather. Which is the best "investment"? She won't be wearing them for work incidentally. I said I'd ask the collective wisdom on MN!

(we're both online looking at the selection on net a porter, btw!)

Actually, I've realised we don't mean investment, I mean what would she get the most wear out of/are most versatile/won't date? He's willing to go to £500 btw.

Blimey, lucky her!

Personally, if I was going for them I'd go for black patent. They're a bit different plus she won't be wearing them all the time, so it's not as if they'll get ruined on the commute to work!

That's just my opinion.

Indeed, but she's in Cumbria, I'm in Cambridge and online seems to be the way forward until she can get into Liverpool etc. And right this minute she's skiving at work and I'm being a crap parent, messing with my phone at the park!

tell her to be very careful! - im a high heel wearing expert (self taught! Grin) and i have to say louboutin can be VERY hard on the balls of your feet - my most comfy heels (5in heel about 3in platform) are from Gina - also, very often you will find kurt keiger do very similar shoes at a fraction of the cost.

i love labels, but sometimes they can be a bit 'underwhelming'!

I would be going for these if my DH were to offer to buy me some.....although they are v high and I have heard what Jesus says that they are v unforgiving on the balls of your feet....

I'm not far from you Holly. Shame you can't see some close up and give her your opinion that way. But personally I just think it's better to get something more versatile. Black goes with anything. I know if I got beige on a whim I'd regret it.

I live my louboutins and i get the most wear out of my black patent ones in the winter but nude peeptoes in the summer. I wear mine to work bunhave to say that my Hobbs, kurt Geiger or jimmy choos are much more comfortable and better padded insoles. My favourite with a slightly chunkier heel so easier tonwalk in ate black suede miu miu platform heels.

I would also get the lace ones or ones that really illustrated what Louboutin can do.
