Both nice. Though you would have to take the dress with you to match up a pashmina - the colours on the web sites can be deceiving.

Any advice on hat wear accessories etc

tethersend Fri 02-Sep-11 17:37:52

Hello smile

I really like the dress... when is the wedding? If it's cold enough, I would wear it with a fur shrug like this. I really like this but it's real fur, so pricy.

I'm not keen on pashminas, so others will be better placed to advise you on colours etc.

For hats and shoes, how about a plum sort of colour?

Let me know what you think and I'll have a look.

If you're not wearing a jacket, I'd suggest a fascinator rather than a hat. (hat might look too substantial without a jacket).

Debenhams have quite a good selection of fascinators.

I think the disc shaped ones like this are elegant and almost half way to a hat.

How about going for accessories in a shade of cream, or dusty pink, or gold maybe? Would go well with the colour of the dress, and might be easier than matching the dress.

minkymeerkat Fri 02-Sep-11 18:13:09

Thats why i like the dress because i can go creams, dusky pinks or silver.

I was thinking more along the fascinator route.

Wedding is in 9 weeks, Sorry not keen on the stoles but quite like the hat.

Open to suggestions for any other ideas though.

I can't decide whether I like the first dress or if it looks like a fish

TBH if the wedding is in late autumn/winter I think you will need something more than just a pashmina or you'll freeze! If you don't like normal jackets, how about a shrug or cropped jacket/bolero? Or an eveningy tailored coat like I suggested on your other thread grin

minkymeerkat Fri 02-Sep-11 18:24:16

Really don't want a jacket, cropped or otherwise as i just look so awful and they all seem to age me sad

so need to find a warm wrap/pashmina type thingy thats not too short

I'm liking the fascinators.

minkymeerkat Fri 02-Sep-11 18:25:48

Wedding is quite small and informal btw. I think i will be the only one wearing any sort of head gear anyway

PeanutGallery Fri 02-Sep-11 18:36:37

Ah ok, well in that case how about some sort of dressy cardigan?

I like pashminas but the problem is that they only warm your neck and chest, unless you wrap them over your shoulders, but then it tends to look a bit granny-shawl-esque. Hence the recommendations for warmer stuff!

I am a cold person though. If you are a warmer person and the wedding venue is well heated then you may be fine with just a pashmina!

Like tethers I'd be tempted to go for fur

I love this one

minkymeerkat Fri 02-Sep-11 19:25:30

ok girls, please focus, no black, no fur...as you were wink

tethersend Fri 02-Sep-11 19:26:39

I like that one, ruby.

minky, I think a pashmina will kill the dress, sorry.

MrsCampbellBlack Fri 02-Sep-11 19:29:57

Well if it needs to be a pashmina - the one you linked to is fine.

minkymeerkat Fri 02-Sep-11 19:33:35

I think the fur will be too much...could look a bit like 'Marlene' from 'Only fools and horses'

Im thinking soft dove greys in a luxury soft fabric and also fairly informal, not worried about feeling cold as venue is well heated.

ZhenXiang Fri 02-Sep-11 19:37:32

How about this?

minkymeerkat Fri 02-Sep-11 19:39:19

Zhen, i like that

Collision Fri 02-Sep-11 19:39:25

I think you should just wear the dress although-I-think-it-is-too-short-for-Mother-of-the-bride

or you will look like a woman in a dress and a cardy! Buy some 7 denier tights and high shoes, a cream fascinator and wear the dress. No wrap or pash or bolero.

ZhenXiang Fri 02-Sep-11 19:42:56

They have it in this shade too minky.

Collision Fri 02-Sep-11 19:43:03

love this

minkymeerkat Fri 02-Sep-11 19:44:18

The dress is much longer on me than in the picture, i tried it on yesterday and it sits on my knees, well below a little lower. I think you are right about the dress/cardy combo, although it is nice.

I just want something over my shoulders for travelling

minkymeerkat Fri 02-Sep-11 19:46:21

Collison, that was my first choice but it is out of stock now, i tried on the red version but it doesn't suit me.

Honestly i'm having a nightmare finding something suitable.
