Thanks, onelily. The first one's nice, though as you say a bit satchel-y!

The second is pretty, but way too small for me - I have to be able to fit a book inside :)

oh, if you need a big bag, and not with satchel try this

Much better size and shape! Not sure about the croc emboss...

Oh, I really like that notonthehighstreet one...

The Zara is lovely, too, though I'm not sure about the colour - I need something that can be really versatile...

Those are nice, bertie. I don't mind going slightly over budget IF it's a really wow bag, mind...

Tapsel, the first one you posted is great, though I coudln't find it in black. Am not 100% keen on the heart tassle, but otherwise it's definitely on the right track...

If you look at the part of the page where it says basket you can select colour there, black or chocolate, sometimes black looks brown on the site too, if you enlarge the photo, the first bag is in black, the heart Tweens is easily removed.

I meant tassel (autocorrect on my phone) not tween.

MmeC, this one's quite nice - www.reddirect.co.uk/p/Clearance%20Bags/BC1-10.htm

  • though I still do like the notonthehighstreetone. Something about the fact that they're custom-made, perhaps! If only it was about 20 pounds cheaper, and therefore easier to justify...

Thank you so much, ladies!

The Paul & Joe is nice, though I'm not hugely keep on tassles...

The navy is LOVELY, and the price is definitely right - but I wonder if it's as versatile? My main autumn/winter coats are: a long, dark green Zara number, a green/grey parka, and a black bomber jacket.

Ha ha, bertie and Tapel! I'm sure economies could be made elsewhere...

And no, there's no particular rush - apart from my 15-year high school reunion in two weeks' time ;)
