Autumn/winter wishlist

47 replies

happilyeverafter · 25/08/2011 13:04

Does anyone else want to share their autumn/winter lusts?

Mine are:

Cashmere or merino stripe sweater in navy/cream
Mid blue skinnies to wear with heels
Leather pencil skirt
Tan block heeled loafer
Black shoe/ankle boots possibly suede to wear with dresses/leather pencil

I had been hankering after some colored denims but after trying on dozens of pairs I havent found any that looked right on my substantial thighs so will just have to admire them from afar.

Nice merino jumper here - bit pricy!

Nice list.

Yes some glossy bitter chocolate riding boots, stiff and not baggy round legs.

Big plush knitted scarf.

I am not really looking for that much but I want:

Boots - something flat and knee high to go with everything either in Tan or Black.

Tan Leather Bag

2-3 cashmere sweaters. Deep V neck and full sleeve.

I want lots of knitted dresses but specifically

This One

And a big cuddly cashmere or merino roll neck jumper, somewhere between a toffee and a light coffee colour.

That reiss dress is very belle in the hour.

Couple of long knitted tunics to wear with leggings or skinny jeans. Like the look of this one

Pair of chino type trousers - I've lived in these all summer so need something similar but a bit more seasonal

Pair of practical/warm boots for cold/bad weather. Thinking of these

Pair of nude or metallic ballerinas

Wrap dress, possible this one but not sure which colour to go for

Pair of Converse or similar (like I haven't already got enough!) Ordered these which I loved except the trim is a sort of murky mottled grey instead of cream like the picture so they look a bit grubby. Was disappointed as other than that they're really nice.

Tan bag to go with my new tan boots. Love this but it's out of stock and possibly my price range :(

Nice jumper - loved this and it's soft and comfy as well as pretty but it's an odd shape which made me look an odd shape. If it was slightly more fitted I'd have it like a shot.

Reading that back I am either too fussy or need to start widening my shopping horizons!

Let me know what you come up with for winter chinos

Grey ankle boots;
Tan knee high boots;
Charcoal long-sleeved dress - have seen a possible contender in The White Company but it's a bit over-budget;
Grey silk or cotton pretty top of some sort;
Grey cashmere hoodie or v neck;
Longer tops for wearing with skinnies and boots but these are proving v elusive;
A couple of light scarves with patterns - maybe a grey one and a subtle leopard-print one;
Lots of tights! Got a couple of Wolford pairs in the sale and am looking forward to wearing them! I also like the M&S cashmere mix ones.

Remus I got Donna Karan charcoal cashmere mix wool tights in TK Maxx today for £7.99. Gorgeous

henrythecat · 25/08/2011 18:25

Miss Read ditto on the seasonal chinos. Haven't seen that many about though.

Remus Re: the scarves, have you seen this beauty? It's lightweight (and 100% wool so very soft) and would fulfil your subtle leopard print requirement. I purchased it at the weekend and am in love. Bit expensive though, but worth it in terms of wear I'll get out of it (plus I had store credit so was only £4 technically Hmm)

Cashmere - where do you get yours.....!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 25/08/2011 18:28

Henry - LOVE the scarf and it's exactly the kind of thing I'm after - but I'm hoping to find something similar in maybe TK Maxx or Warehouse for no more than half the price of that one!

Gilly - Will deffo check out our TK Maxx for those tights too - thank you.

Missread - I ordered that wrap dress and set it back. I'm only 5ft 2in but the standard length was above my knee. It's So not a true wrap dress as it's stitched. Gorgeous colour though.

Helenagrace · 25/08/2011 18:41

also not a true wrap dress

Sorry iPhone autocorrect

henrythecat I bought this scarf and have loved it same as this one , and I am also hankering after one of these berylware scarves

Report
henrythecat · 25/08/2011 19:08

Love the berylware, think I might have to get my knitting needles out, reckon I could make it for half the price

Report
madammecholet · 25/08/2011 19:24

I keep thinking that too, but i've never picked up a set of knitting needles in my life, and I JUST KNOW i'd cock it up. I also know that this scarf is exactly what I need must have for winter.

I've not ordered yet, just justifying still.

I forgot something from my list - a grey leather jacket, if I can find a nice one.

And this is the White Company dress - what do you think?

yy re the scarves.

I wanted this Stella M one but I could not pay that much for a knitted scarf.

So I made my own in baby alpaca in plum for much less!

MMecholet You need this book, a set of wooden needles and some cheapy acrylic yarn to practice with. I'm the clumsiest person I know and managed to knit using this book.
