What do you wear of you don't wear jeans?

I have a feeling a there similar to this may have been on here before, so apologies if it has.

So I'm looking for an alternative to jeans, mainly because I wear the same pair ALL the time, they're losing their shape, and I want to feel a bit better presented. Unfortunately I don't have long, lean legs - I'm not fat, just not tall and skinny!

I'm no fashionists, but I'm giving up jeans too and was going to go with comfy cords. Will be watching the rest of this thread with interest though!

I wear skirts, dresses, tunics and leggings - that sort of thing

Josie - cords? really? where are they from? Am not sure I am ready for cords!

I wear skirts and leggings and short dresses and linen trousers and smarter trousers in the winter with boots.

Chinos or JBrand Houlihans.

Collision - why? do they sound too sad?? I wear them with tunics and trainers/boots. Have worn cheapo ones from Tu at Sainsburys. They're not the 'focal point' of my outfit but they are warm and comfy (I work with young children) and neutral Smile

I'm not a big fan of jeans either, for the reasons you describe. I really like Boden's velvet wideleg trousers and some of their other styles that have a wider leg. Second the suggestions for cords. They can look nice with a smart jumper and some leather boots or shoes. I wear a size 8 but I find jeans just impossible because if they fit around my (smallish) waist they are too tight on my fat "curvy" thighs. Wideleg trousers seem to get around this problem.

i usually wear lots of skirts or dresses on regular basis.
When going out, again some dresses or skirts or stockings. If out for grocerie shopping either i opt of jeans or capries. I dont mind jeans, skinny fit ones are the new trendsetters, i guess
Hope this helps!

I second Fritzi - Houlihan's are my jeans-substitute of choice

Am I looking at the wrong Houlihans? When I do a google search it looks like they are skinny jeans with a very tight ankle? If I wore those I'd look like an inverted triangle from the waist down Grin.

I wear dresses mainly. With tights and boots in the winter, sandals in the summer (with or without footless tights depending on the temperature).

I don't wear jeans trousers or leggings of any description.

I wear skirts and dresses. That's it.
But I have lots of them Smile

Pag .... I would do this but how do you live without pockets. I need non jeans with pockets. I am not ready for a life without pockets

Report
Pagwatch · 23/08/2011 14:31

Hmmm, pockets.

Some of them have pockets but not all. But I often wear jackets or I have a cross body handbag for the days when I don't.
But I am also a handbag person.
I am a bit of a big old Jessie. Skirts, handbags and clippy heels.

Not much help really. Sorry

See I need two rear pockets. One for phone and one for cotton hankie.

Without phone and hankerchief about my person I may as well be naked.
