Internet product reviews at John Lewis - misleading??

I always assumed that product reviews were written by joe public but John Lewis have members of staff submitting 5 star reviews.
The reviews are obviously favourable but the content could just be listed in the product description.

Surely this is misleading, as I do read alot of reviews and make decisions about purchasing based on this, to an extent.

Really? I totally agree. I read lots of reviews before deciding too. I'd be tempted to complain.

How do you know they are written by staff? I read them, and I diidn't know.

I spotted this yesterday. I don't think it's misleading, because they are up front about it and expert sales staff are why I love JL. The way they present these comments as 'reviews' is a bit unusual though, I think they might need a separate heading, e.g. 'Our adviser's view'.
