Eyelash tinting?

Was very tempted to get my eyebrows threaded until I saw the comments on here about the pain factor! I let my sister tweeze one eyebrow years ago and that hurt like feck so since then its been au natural all the way.
But the place that offers the threading is now offering half price eyelash tinting. So questions-
what does it actually involve?
is it suitable for sensitive eyes?
how long does it last?
I have tried just about every mascara on the market but my eyelashes still lokk crap(very fair and sparse-they never been good but chemo a few years ago finished them off). So is eyelash tint the way to go?

Not very long, IME. I have fair lashes too and when I've had it done I've always been back on the mascara within a couple of weeks, so never bother any more.

I have sensitive skin and never had a problem, apart from a bit of nippiness while it's actually being done.

I like it - you'll have to have a patch test beforehand. It does make your eyes 'pop' a bit more. I have the blue/black colour (I.e very black) - it did get in my eyes a tiny bit once and stung but were fine within about ten minutes. Lasts about three weeks for me - but I don't use mascara and only use the ocm (oil cleansing method) so no alcohol or anything that might fade it more quickly.

It looks great. Start brown-black then go darker if you like it.
I have sensitive eyes which run afterwards but back to normal pretty quickly. Cucumber slice on top if they itch. Always do a patch test first. And don't wear contacts to the appointment.
It lasts a fair while for me- I get it done every 6-8 weeks and top up with mascara in the latter weeks.
Without it I look like a potato!

I do it regularly and my eyebrows too. I'd recommend getting your eyebrows threaded and dyed too - its not that bad painwise, it makes you look very groomed, in a way that DIY plucking or waxing never has for me. I've had it done twice now and I'm hooked.

Strongly recommend it. It lasts about 6 weeks. I love not having to faff with mascara every day and not having an unnatural 'over mascar-ed' look which can be v. aging.

Thickening mascara is better.

Eyelash tints are okay (I have pale, sparse lashes and very very sensitive eyes and have them done for holidays when I don't want to wear mascara all the time) but I usually end up wearing mascara over the top to thicken my lashes when I want to look good.

Used to get my lashes and brows done at a salon every 4 weeks, now I do them myself at home using Dylash which I get from Boots, I do them every 3 weeks as thats when they start to fade.

I get my eyebrows threaded, occasionly get the lashes permed and get the eyelashes tinted about once every 6 - 8 weeks.

If I want a more dramatic evening look I put a coat of mascara on top but the beauty of tinting is that you don't have to mess with masacara on a day to day basis.

I swear by tinting, and if done correctly is amazing. Has never given me any pain, and trust a beautician rather than myself to do it properly. Really good when swimming or off on hols. No mascara hassle, and lasts me 5 weeks usually 6.

msbunbury - OCM is likely to cause the dye to fade quickly, I reckon. When I trained to do brows they told us that if you do them too dark you should rub a cream cleanser through them to lift the colour.

With regards to painful plucking or threading, try rubbing a bit of bongela onto the area first to numb it. Better than having straggly brows which can be really aging and unflattering.
