Ok so I have ordered the stuff & am going to attempt the Brazilian blow dry treatment at home.

Will I be able to do it myself? Anyone got any experience or advice they can offer?

Have you had it done before in a salon?

I've had it done and it is very simple, but I wouldn't be able to do it myself because I can't co-ordinate my arms enough to do that thing that hairdressers do with the brush/hairdryer IYSWIM.

Bun, where did you buy it? Was looking myself this evening, but the prices vary and I'm not sure what you're supposed to actually buy - what constitutes the whole 'treatment'.

Low - no not had it done before but have read lots of reviews & just thought how hard can it be, famous last words.

I ordered some off of eBay but it is available through Amazon too. You get the pre cleansing shampoo & then the solution. Then it says you need to use salt free shampoo for maintenance.

I was kind of thinking that at worst I do a bad job, have to continue using straighteners & have wasted a few quid.

I did it last week!
I did it by myself this time, was very easy. Took forever though!! (I have a lot of hair!)

Good luck xx

Oo LJ, glad it was easy if not laborious, my hair is long & v thick too so no doubt be the same.

Was it a good result? Where did you get your stuff from?

So it's just wash, apply stuff, dry & then straighten right? Then no washing for 4 days or something?

I got if from eBay it was called Enzo I think? How long you have to leave it in depends on which one you buy. The one I used was leave in for 24hr- but I left it 48 just to be on the safe side!

I'm pleased with the result. Not sure how long it will last, but will keep you posted!! Smile

haha!

ok, so this is what happens (IME):

they put stuff on hair and leave it for a bit.

then dry it into hair in sections. like, really dry. again and again. they go over each section many times.

then straighten every section of hair, again and again.

takes about an hour and a half for my neck length hair.

HTH

I went off and googled as it's ruddy expensive in salons so never had it done, home kits sound good.

I know, I know, according to the Mail everything gives you cancer, but check this out, and be careful!

Ok that was cheery reading!

According to the one I have bought it contains no formaldehyde or aldehyde. Hmm, got me a bit concerned now though...

So you've not to wash your hair for 4 days afterwards? Yikes! Not good!

Also, do you just use normal shampoo after it and blow dry as normal but don't use any styling products?

LowLevelWhingeing · 18/08/2011 12:28

the last time I had it done, it was only 2 days without washing (new formulation), but yes, you have very straight hair for up to four days and it does start to look rather lank, so plan it for when you're not doing anything special.

you have to use a special shampoo to make it last longer, otherwise it washes out I think. You can just use your normal conditioner and style as normal.

it sounds like a faff, but I'm, telling you it's AMAZING, nay, BLOODY LIFE CHANGING!! Grin

I'm never going back to my old badly behaved hair.

Ok so just did it, took forever.

Looks straight now (well it would wouldn't it).

Trying to get it totally dry before using the straighteners was v hard, seemed to stay slightly stickyHmm.

These instructions say it can be washed after 15 mins.

Tbh, I'm not convinced it will have worked but will keep you posted.

Well have just been out in the rain(though under brolly). Normally my hair would start to go fuzzy due to atmospheric moisture. Still pretty smooth but the real test will be after I wash it next. Can't do that yet as I need to source salt free shampoo. I've not planned this very well have I!

I made it 2 days ago in the salon- must tell you I'm quite happy with the result!! Hairs are streght and so heavy! But let's wait untill I wash my hair (which is 2morrrow). I made this treatment and then realazed that I didnt' have a sulfat-free shampoo :S Finnaly found it today - Schwarzkopf for colored hairs (the rose one). Will let you know the result!

LowLevelWhingeing · 18/08/2011 20:19

just so you know, I was told not to get it wet at all. If it does get wet use the straighteners on it ASAP.

also, don't tie it back in any way as you can be left with unwanted kinks in it. Good luck!
