Regular S&B frequenter here, but have name changed for this thread!

I haven't been swimming since I had DC2 2 years ago, but am going next week (eek!) so I bought a bikini in the sales today...I've put a pic of me wearing it in my profile, I just want your honest opinions on whether it looks okay or not, I think it looks just about passable (I don't think I'll get pointing and laughing)...but I don't know

It's not as flat as I'd ideally like, but then, we don't always get what we want! It's only a v.v. cheap bikini, I am going to treat myself to a suck in high waisted belly covering one when I have the money but this will have to do for now!

If I was being really critical, the bottoms look a bit big, and could be skimpier, but that wouldn't actually cross my mind if I saw you at the pool.

Ok you look fine in a bikini, you have a great trim toned top half. Like Lynette I feel that the bottoms are a bit big. I think a skimpier bottom part with tie sides would actually be more flattering for you.

I bought the bigger ones purposely instead of the side tie ones because I do have the dreaded c-section overhang (that won't bloody shift no matter how much I work out!!!), but I do have a big bum so maybe the bigger pants are just emphasising it instead of camouflaging it? They do have a drawstring at the side, I could draw them in and make them look smaller perhaps?

OK honestly, you look more than fine, but I do think those pants are too big, they are drawing attention to the area and away from your boobs, which are great, plus they are shortening your leg a bit. If they have drawstring sides, which I think they do, just cinch them up a tad to elongate your leg more..

Yep, they're drawstring ones, I'll cinch them in for definite! They do cut my legs up at the side when they're not drawn in, I see what you all mean now!

I'm a size 8 and I get self conscious in swimming pools. I didnt even own a bikini till 3 weeks ago.

You look great, but as someone already mentioned, wrong style bottoms, shorts.
You could have easily gotten away with proper 70's style bikini bottoms, much narrower at the hips, you got really nice legs, small waist, and round hips, get a real bikini bottoms, don't be a wuss

Another vote for "you look fab!". Lovely waist and you've got toned abs. I don't mind the big bikini bottoms but I defer to the others. Enjoy your swim.
