Calling curly haired people - erm on curly hair???

Hi

So I am thinking about going back to work, when I will a minimum amount of time for grooming etc. I have very curly hair, and if I spend time on it after washing, it can look quite nice and sit nicely etc (past my shoulders). If I don't do anything, it's look Santa's beard. I also sometimes straighten whch looks ok, but takes aaaaaaaagggges, even with BBH/GHD combo. So am thinking, based on peope saying should go with natural hair shape, if I invested in 'modern' perm, would that give my hair definintion so wouldnt need to spend as long doing it, or am I being totally lazy ridiculous. without sounding arrogant, I have potential for great hair, just dont have the two hours a day time it would take to make it look great. any suggestions?
