Cap sleeves? Really?

I have recently noticed a lot of dresses with cap sleeves, like this one. Ignore the wnaky hemline, that is another issue altogether. Grin

Is this a 'trend'? Very difficult to wear if you have less than perfect arms, IMO.

Totally agree. Awful. Some people can obviously get away with it. If you were very slim and straight up and down it could create a more hourglass look (check the back view - it sort of balances her from that perspective) but for most, particularly the large of boob, its a bad idea.

I think they can be very flattering.

I have dinner lady arms, and they make them look slimmer.

Really tawdry ? They make my 'not too bad for my age' arms look like uncooked hams.

And for autumn/winter, with a jacket on top, I'll look like an American footballer. This would be lovely if it weren't for the sleeves.

They'd look awful on my fat little arms, - sleeveless would be more flattering.

I think you could wear them though FW, you have a great figure, the second dress is very nice (first one, - a bit expensive since half of the skirt is missing Grin)

Capped sleeves are exclusively for the twiggy armed.

It must depend on the arm shape. I dont have thin arms, and a cap sleeve is much more flattering on me than a sleeveless dress.
The dress in the link does have an unusual shape of cap sleeve though - I think most people would struggle to carry that off.

I love you, Kurri. You are my very favourite MNer in the world, ever.

Actually, Tatty is probably right and you need to be quite boyish of figure to get away with a cap sleeve.

One leather dress, bought in a moment of madness. I should never have confessed.

Still, at least it wasn't Per Una. Grin

Actually, what caught my eye with the first dress was that the model had got the skirt stuck in her knickers.

OK. You can be my second favourite MNer, in the world, ever. Grin

And I can't rock a cap sleeve, because I have a tattoo Shock and I think it looks common and unprofessional.

Ooh I have one of those! I was boringly sensible and have it where no fecker every gets to see it.

Cap sleeves cut me off at the point my arms are thickest Sad. I bear a startling resemblence to a Russian shotputter in cap sleeves.

Look at this beauty. Even the model looks hefty of shoulder. And she's a model.

What hope for the rest of us? Sad Yet there are loads around. Why?
