Don't think I ever had IT.

I would say that I had 'IT' up until a few weeks ago when I got pregnant with DC4. Now I am on the slippery slope to not being able to do up my skinny jeans, no longer wearing perfume etc. But hell, its all in a good cause and hopefully I'll be back to my best by 6 months after the birth!

Today I had 'it' and I looked sassy and cool (I think anyway Smile)
Yesterday I didn't nor did I the day before that I don't think.

Tomorrow? Who knows?

No, most definitely not. Sad

What's even sadder is that I now realise I used to have it but didn't know it at the time.

Congratulations HTH!

I do not have it thats for sure. Even mil said I looked weary and pale yesterday but am on strong anti-biotics and generally under the weather so thats my excuse.

I can look ok but I've never had that 'it' thing - my sister always has though.

'IT' heartlessly left me for another a few years ago. It was hard. I've joined some groups, built my self esteem up a little, had a GAP year, and now I am happy to say (out loud) that I no longer need 'IT' and that 'IT' does not validate me.....

I now have 'I', you see, I chucked out the 'T', who needs a 'T' anyway? I love 'I', we are getting on just fine, and I have my groove back as 'I' and not a generic 'IT'.

Wink

Oh dear, its all a bit depressing. I think maybe we are all being too hard on ourselves.

Im not sure but personally I think "IT" is to do with how we feel and not what we look like.

sometimes yes, sometimes no.

I went to a gallery opening the other day, my god the force of twenty something It-ness was strong.

It's partially the clothes, but the mostly the face... Insouciant beauty. I could do a good line in insouciance when younger.

And mostly it's just feeling really good. Think about it too much and 'poof' it's gone.

I used to have "it", then lost "it" VERY fast when I fell pregnant with DS. Took me 4 years and 2.5st to get "it" back, and today my day was made when a 24 yr old hottie told me I was "fit!!" He may well have been lying, but I'm going to pretend he wasn't! Grin

I still have IT and hope to have IT for a very long time to come. My self-belief did take a bashing the other day when I was feeling very full of IT and Cliff Richard popped up on my mp3 player. IT left very quickly at that point.

It is all in your head

Report
brookeslay · 11/08/2011 09:16

It can be in your head but, it can also be taking time for yourself.

I don`t bother most the time, though when we go away for trips I make the effort. I need a full swat team of beauty therapists and hairdressers.

Then I buy some new clothes or at least some new shoes. I up my water intake actually use all my beauty products , so do all the things that I should do.

When I am away I feel like a more polished version of me, the swishyness makes me feel more confident.

Currently sat on the sofa with a winnie the pooh nightshirt, big used to be pink ugg-style slippers, unwashed, unbrushed hair. Yeah, I reckon I've still got IT Grin

I still make a massive amount of effort interspersed with days of looking like waynetta. It is harder to maintain it all as you age but you just have to accept that.

YUP sounds like you have "IT" A&CS very flaunty this time of the morning.

But what is 'it' - you see I think I mean sex appeal - that certain something that some people have.

I can do groomed in fact I generally do but thats not the same as having 'it' is it?

Or perhaps 'it' is different for all of us.

Bonsoir · 11/08/2011 09:40

I am 2.5 kgs away from my IT weight at the moment - it sounds pathetic, but a small amount makes such a massive difference to how I feel and act.

Agree, though, that more maintenance is required with age, and not just home maintenance. Hairdresser, manicure, pedicure all necessary. Am thinking of trying Atelier du Sourcil to see if it helps - am stunned by the before and after videos!
