Hi ladies.

I wonder if you would be able to give me some advice. I will just give you the background.

For my birthday a few months ago my husband kindly bought me a present from the local beauty salon that I have been going to for the last few years. It is run by three women (one of whom is the manager but she also does treatments) who I get on quite well with.

Anyway the salon was running a promo that you could have any beauty treatment you wanted over a period of 12 months for £800 (which is a lot of money to us) but I and my husband still thought this would be a really good deal.

The first few weeks were great. I managed to get a facial one week, a pedicure the next week etc. However these last few weeks (WHEN I have managed to get an appointment as they seem very booked up all of a sudden-never heard this problem before Confused then the treatments (which are usually an hour have lasted at tops 40 minutes).

I have also had a few of my appointments cancelled at the last minute due to sickness, staff shortages etc again this had never happened to me in the previous few years that I have been a "pay-as-you-go" customer.

I know in the grand scheme of life it is not a major problem but Iam getting really pissed off about this (I feel bad to my husband too as obviously it was him that brought it for my birthday pressie so I cant say anything to him as he would be annoyed).

Anyway my dilemma is: Shall I say anything and risk bad feeling (bearing in mind I still have another 7 months to go) and if so what shall I say? or do I just suck it up and see how it goes while feeling annoyed inside which kind of defeats the whole purpose of going there Confused

If you have got this far, then thank you Grin

Thanks Cleverything.

I will try booking in a different name, thats a good idea.

Thing is I really dont want to try and get a pro rata amount back as

  1. I know think they will say no, and
  2. It is a very small village I live in and I dont want bad feeling (if it can be avoided) as I know I will see all three women out and about (ie in the same pubs, supermarkets etc) for the rest of all time as Im not planning on moving house for a long time and it could be awkward IYSWIM.

Try booking in a different name is a good idea. If they continue then contact trading standards.
