Hello! I was just about to post on the other thread. Hope things are OK where you are Marsha. There are rumours of unrest in Cheltenham high street at the mo, fgs. They'd better not mess with the Promenade!

Hello Frances! Lovely boots!

Thanks Apuski. Yes quite bizarre. A few friends in Clapham, they had a scary time last night.

I was in the supermarket today and everyone had to evacuate mid-shop. It was intense! Afterwards it was clear they are just shutting all the shops - but I had that nervous stifled giggle on the phone to dh. 'We have to leave!' .

Great boots Frances, good one.

Am feeling strange as so quiet on the street, no cars.

Thanks NY!

How annoying Carciofi - hope that toddler group was bearable and you weren't lamenting the lost trip too much.

So glad DD's day went well Fritzi - how were you??

It is lovely here VB - another neighbour popped round today who seems lovely and has DCs the same age as mine - we are going round next week for the DCs to play together. Am so pleased - we lived in our old place (a flat in a block of 8) before our last one for 4 years and only spoke to 1 set of neighbours twice.

Lovely blazer Plum - saw a v similar one in Warehouse which I toyed with.

OiO hope your Mum becomes a little more enthusiastic about your trip and that you are granted your freedom on Friday!

Am trying to get organised for hen do this weekend - I've arranged it and am desperately worried that it will end up being a bit rubbish. 16 of us in a spa for the weekend.

Hope you're ok Marsha.

And hi Frances those boots are bloody lovely.

Jumping in. Great title NY, thank you.
Speaking of Autumn buys, I tried a navy duvet/down coat on over the WE - had one of those huge fold over collars and I immediately felt all hot and bothered and looked like I had no neck. Will stick to funnel necks - which somehow suit me better.

Frances welcome - boots are a fab way to introduce yourself on here - lots of Belstaff fans on this thread! Great buy.

Oh Red you have my sympathies re hen do - I had to arrange my sisters and it was a nightmare trying to please everyone. Spa sounds good tho.

Like those boots Frances.

Red- hen weekend sounds good. It is stressful feeling responsible for everyone enjoying themselves. I organised a best friends hen do a few years ago (we went to Amsterdam and I scored us a great deal with a luxe hotel- but was convinced it was too good to be true until we arrived and I realised it was lovely.) The stress!!

Thanks notyummy!
I'm with you plum on having no complaints about country living today.
Great buy frances. I think you used to post before didn't you?
I spent an hour today trying on all my new work clothes. The Boden spot print dress wasn't right for me. Quite billowy, and the spots were too big. I have loads of options for work now though, and I have catalogued each 'look'!
Would be great if you could make the 8th verity.

Aah thanks ladies - think it'll be fine. Pyjama party Friday, treatments Saturday, suitably cheesy themed evening in spa on Saturday (Gypsy Wedding theme with this company providing entertainment, then a long walk on the Sunday. Place to ourselves in lots of countryside, fingers crossed.

notyummy Thanks for starting a new thread!

marsha Hope things are ok in the area you live. After seeing pics of burning buildings and cars, I find it hard to imagine how things will return to "normal" any time soon. Terrible...

frances Welcome and great boots! My Belstaffs were one of the best buys of last A/W.

ollie Speaking of best buys: I bought a grey North Face knee length down parka (funnel neck) last winter too and it is just so cosy. Can't find link though... How long are your parents going to stay?

cleverly Can you make the next meet-up?

red I felt quite emotional at seeing DD in her school uniform for the first time and think it will take some time for all of us to get adjusted to our new routine.

It would be great if you could come clevery. I'm excited about your plans! (Been noseying round other threads!)

Such a big day for you all fritzi, will take some adjusting I'd imagine. Are you working now?

Good luck for the weekend red. Ply everyone with alcohol, works every time!

Am sure you did Fritzi - what a landmark!

While I'm here and Clevery and Bloss are around, I wondered whether you would be so good as to do me a mini colours analysis. I think I've diagnosed self as a winter (v pale, brown eyes, dark brown hair and colour I think makes me pop is electric blue), what do you reckon?

Report
blossoming · 10/08/2011 06:18

red, electric blue is a winter colour. That would mean the Whistles dress would be wrong for you. IO have that colour though. The Kettlewell site has a 'colour story' section that could help you further.

So jealous of you all knowing your colours - think I will ask DH to get me a voucher for my bday! I am sallow skinned with dark hair and eyes and suit jewel colours (emerald, sapphire, ruby, amethyst) - what do we think? Winter?

Some shopping success yesterday - bought these skinny cargos as a trial run before investing in houlis when I am back to my fighting weight! Also fell in love with a leopard print maxi which I may yet buy. Zara has lots of lovely stuff in too - particularly taken with this snake print sweater

All the shops boarded up round here but nothing happened thankfully - hope everyone else is ok!

Off to get my huge baby weighed now (has already gained well over a kilo!) have a lovely day everyone!

P.s. What are our thoughts on Pandoras - was thinking of asking DH for one for our anniversary but can't decide whether they are just the wrong side of naff!

Good moring Smile.

Fritzi, so pleased DD was happy at school. I bet you feel all 'out at sea' though, I know I will when my 'baby' starts in Sept. DH and I haven't exchanged anniversary gifts for a long time but this year we decided to make the effort. The hammock has already been a lot of fun for all of us. I've decided that since my baby is starting school I will have more energy to focus on my relationship with DH; he's pleased to hear that.

Ollie, you need another holiday Smile.

Bloss, I had a similar mammoth trying on session before going out to dinner last night. In the end I wore my charcoal shorts with aubergine coloured tights, new TS white shirt and Boden silvery grey cropped cahmere cardi, oh and my fav duck scarf. Babysitting went well so we should be going out more often.

Lovely boots frances, I was tempted by those myself but I need a bit of a heel.

Looking forward to seeing you all again in Oct. and to meeting those of you I haven't met yet. Tempted to stay the night so as not to miss out on any of the fun. Room mate icey?

Morning. So pleased Roary, Amber and Cleverly are coming to meetup. Verity? Lovely to hear from everyone..

Pickled thanks for bikini link, I like it but tend to go for boy-short type bottoms. I need one for sure.

Amber rabbit-felt hats are everywhere. They can look good, I like the floppy ones.

I need to do hair, Aveda next week. Ah the upkeep! Wink
