Do these shoes work with this dress??

Bought the Phase Eight Verity here today for a wedding in October, it is indeed the most sublimely flattering dress in the universe. I'm just a little worried it is a bit too "womanly" iyswim. I'm 38, I know I'm no spring chick but there will be lots of fab outfits and I dont want to feel frumpy.

Anyways, I thought maybe these. Whaddayathink?

Hello cyb!
No fascinator please. Like the way that dress is structured rather than drapey I am finding the drapey look being a bit of a fat disguise that has the opposite effect!

Hi nodders!

yes I'm ALL about the drape these days

I was looking a some vests in a shop the other day and I thought, I just cant wear a vest anymore. Muffin tops not withstanding, I need more forgiveness in my tee shirts

noddyholder · 04/08/2011 14:09

I will send you all my old drapery Grin

Oh dont tell me you;ve gone all skinny on me

The dress is incredible on and is reduced to £88, I am a 16 and it is so difficult to find something that is forgiving and non frumpy. Highly recommend.

The shoes are on their way. Thanks again

No not skinny but drapery the way to go 'round our way' if you have got rid of your velour track suit and are wanting a new look Shock

For me I think any 'disguise' clothing is carte blanche for me to hot foot it to pizza express and stuff my face. Its like leggings instead of skinnies I think I am too greedy!

Happy Anniversary!

Ive not been to wedding for about 7 years (a full wedding that is) am very much looking forward. The bride (my cousin) has camper vans instead of wedding cars and a fab venue for reception so its all v exciting

Thank you! Bubbly is a flowing.

Love the camper van idea. I'd be very excited too - wedding ceremony (getting all misty eyed in the congregation, thinking back to own wedding etc,) bubbly after, wedding breakfast, speeches and then party! A drink, a dance, a new frock/shoes and I pressume no Dc for the night! Fun or what?!
Need to drop some wedding hints to friends/family I think.
