Help with armpit fat!

I'm not particularly overweight-a cuddly size 12 (9 1/2 stone and 5 foot 3), and a 34DD, but I have horrible armpit chubby bits which I think look crap in vest tops.

Is this something you either have/not have and need to dress accordingly-ie thicker strapped vest tops?

Or is it due to a badly fitting bra?

Can you do excercises to get rid of it?

If I lost weight, would it vanish!?

I just wanted to say that I get this too, it seems to depend on what I wear. I am a size 14 and about 5 ft 5 in height.

I don't think its badly fitted bra as I tend to get measured lots so am wearing the correct size.

A well fitting bra may help - it might be one that sits lower on your back rather than stops just shy of the armpit area, also how tight it is (but obviously most the support that comes from bras is from the back strap so you don't want to skimp too much on this)

You cannot shift it with exercise, it is a fat deposit, therefore you cannot spot reduce, its like using petrol from one side of the tank.

If you reduced your body fat percentage it would reduce accordingly as would other parts of your body.

It might be the absolute last thing to go. It might just be where you store a little extra. I have a bit of this even at my fighting weight. This is what lipo is for - not overall weight or fat reduction but spot reduction for people who have a random fatty area that they'd have to be emaciated to eventually lose and realistically never will. But whether you want lipo or not...its invasive so ideally you wouldn't. If you lived in a really hot country you might consider it worth it though.

I have that 2nd pair of tits under my arms thing though which is why I hate strappy tops, on the subject of 2nd pairs of tits under arms, my mum actually has a small amount of breast tissue there and they have to scan it when she has a mammogram so I think its a bit hereditary. If this is the case with you (unlikely - its reasonably unusual) then even dieting or lipo would not shift it. But its probably just fat.

I think this may be where your skin has stretched from not wearing a properly supportive bra in the past. You cant get rid of it without surgery.

Just thought I'd mention i have it too and I'm 23 and a size 8, definately not stretched skin its just fat but i agree it doesn't look great in vest tops, i personally hate how it looks in strapless things i always see photo's of me in them then i notice the chubby armpit fat. Anyway i don't think it goes with dieting or losing weight, but exercise is more likely to work, if u can tone up the area surely it will look better. Don't feel u have to stop wearing strappy tops though, my new trick is putting my hands on my hips if anyone pulls a camera out, looks much better :)
