Over hi-lighted hair again - wanted up lift but they have made me bleach blonde

I gave up hi-lighting last year as it was dried out and just fed up. I used a darker home colour which wasnt nice but my new hairdresser who did a fantastic cut recommended a colour up lift...anyway went back and organised some colours as I explained I didnt want blonde just golden glows and was pretty speechless when she sat me down in the chair after washing it you could see absolute blondeness!!! ARRHHHHH, Once dried I look so blonde again its far too much - not the look I wanted!!! Now dreading the roots.

What is the best thing to do get some darker hi-lights put in? What shade? I have some greys coming through and I am a mix of dark blonde and light brown with blonde eye brows. Need to do this soon as.

I cant understand if these people make out they are colour specialists then why this happened???? I said numerous times I didnt want the blonde look now I look at me!!! I wanted a more older sophisticated look using my natural colour...blinkin heck!

I would have said something there and then and made an appointment for them to fix it for free ASAP. Did you do this?
If you told them specifically and they've ignored you, you should.

Think they could put a semi permanent or permanent colour on top to tone it down to honey coloured or whatever you want.
I have to say I just had highlights and can hardly tell the difference, I suppose it's very natural - which is what I asked for. Are you sure yours is that bad?

No far to polite and typical of me! And having spent so long in there boiling hot I just wanted to escape.

As for telling the difference oh yes! I am yellow.

He recommened two colours one was a lovely golden shade and the other a whiteish but suppose with full head and being so fine and so many it made them bright. Should of stuck with a half head or something.

Got to get some colour back in.

Ring up and say you're not happy.
If you can face going back, then they should re-do it for for no charge.

I had overhighlighting issues with hideous regrowth! I recently had a warm mid brown (in the low 7 range I think) streaked through (about half blonde left half brown, esp round my parting). It ended up just as I wanted it (sounds similar to yours). Kinda matched in tone with my roots so no stripe, but still with fine blonde streaks that were not obvious ('golden glow' as you said). You could try something similar to tone your blonde down.

Your hairdresser should put some darker 'hi lights' through while you are having your hair done. She doesn't sound very good - I'd change hairdressers!

A good hairdresser will be able to knock back the colour with clever use of tinting - I've had it done before after a disaster. Look for a 5 star salon.
