bottom right, called classic sculpted.

The setting is different, my partner is worried i'll hate it in a couple of years, what do you think?

I really like it Smile

It is a simple enough design, it looks modern but classy, if you love it now you won't care that it's not 'fashionable'.

And 1 carat - you can't go wrong Wink

Any others you like for comparison, or is this 'the one'?

I don't like it at all, sorry.

I like it but i think I prefer the classic spectacle design just a tiny bit more- it's not quite so chunky looking.

I dont think its different, very simple and classy.

You'd have to be a right freak to get 'bored' of a one carat engagement ring.

Tis looooooovely.

I think it won't be as sparkly as other cuts and also you'll be paying for a lot of platinum and I'd rather have more diamond Smile

I prefer the classic engagement ring style as it shows the sparkle off better.
Classic sculpted looks a bit masculine to me.

Wowzers! Just saw the cost!

I have a 1 carat rock my DH bought at Bonhams and had set in a ring he had designed. I love it to death. It cost less than half that one!

I agree ggirl.

I don't like it - it is too embedded in the setting - I think you need a little air to the diamond to make it sparkle don't you?

love it. and it's more practical than the traditional one as well.

its really chunky and kinda blokeish imho sorry.

I don't really like it, sorry - feel like the metal is too "present" and overtakes the diamond. If the metal wasn't quite so enveloping I think it'd look better.

i like it a lot, but then mine is the same as the 'classic spectacle' on that site.
i prefer to have the diamon set into the ring as i'm very outdoorsy and practical and didn't want a sicky up claw setting.

For £12,500 there are much, much nicer rings out there...

Not really my style, but if DP bought me any ring at that price I'd be Grin!!

Really like it, but will be tricky to get a wedding ring to go with unless the designer creates matchable sets.

£12.5K is about 3 times too much for a 1 carat stone

I don't like it but that doesn't matter. It only matters if you don't.

I have been wearing my engagement ring for nearly 13 years and I still love it and get comments about how unusual and lovely it is.

Hi I have worked for top jewllers including Cartier and £12,500 is not too much for a 1ct stone of that quality D VS1 is rare and therefore expensive, Platinum also is much harder wearing than gold and when you polish as you will want to every now and again you will not lose the metal as you do with Gold.
Your Fiance may be right as most women I have come across do tend to want something more classic later on but if you love it then that's what counts.

DM if you need any advice I hate seeing people get ripped off with Diamonds and engagement rings.

i love my bezel setting as it's very 'me' which i think matters more than it being 'classic'... if you like it, go with the courage of your convictions Grin

I have a non-standard engagement ring and I love it. If you love this then have it. It's hardly outlandish - a single diamond set in a band. Go for it.
