Seriously, could someone please lend her some straighteners? She's got some free time Mon, is there anyone who could pop round and give her a trim? It looks awful!

Yeah I like her hair too.

Don't think a trim would get rid of curly hair. Straighteners not great for coarse curly hair and take ages.

Enough of the curly bashing Angry

Both she and her hair are disgusting.

Please don't make this a ginger thing - we have enough problems.

I have lovely curly hair, if I do say so myself, and dd2 has stunning (albeit straight) auburn hair. It's daft to propose straightening as a viable option, if your natural tendency is to curl. And redheads can be beautiful. The only unappealing aspect of RB is her character.

hair's fine. Bit of Fun has it perfectly summed up with The only unappealing aspect of RB is her character. - spot on, m'dear!

My advice to RB. Change your attitude but never ever ever change your hair!

I just love reading stuff like this when my hair is the same. Took enough bullying over it at school thanks. It would take me an hour each day to get straight and slightest whiff of damp and it curls again. I'll stick with my hair, at least I look individual just a shame some people think everyone should conform

Your hair sounds gorgeous, brighthair. If you have so far refrained from masterminding a profiteering conglomerate which illegally hacks people's phones, then I am sure you are much more attractive than Rebecca Brooks Grin

Love her hair - it is so thick and big and curly and great colour (is it natural..?)

I do not like her at all but I do like her hair. I think with some product and a bit of time she could make it look fantastic. Loving the colour.

I have actually been looking through my new next directory today too and there is a model with stunning straight red hair too. Amazing to think how tormented a school friend was who had red hair 25 years ago.

Oh sod of with the curly-bashing, it's getting tres boring. I'd much rather have curly hair than the conformist uniform of poker straight any day.

My hair is very similar to RB (thankfully i'm a much nicer person tho!!Grin).

Why should i straighten my hair to conform to everyone else with straight hair? Whats so wrong with curly hair? And red curly hair?

I bloody love my curls so enough of the red, curly hair bashing. (but carry on with all the bashing of her personality!!)

My hair is like RB's hair all be it not as red and I love it. Straightening it just doesn't work. Its too flat and never goes as straight as you would like it. After about 10 mins it's starting to curl again but not in an even fashion.

I say a bit of John Freda sleek curl lotion and leave it to dry and it will be abut less frizzy. Apart from that leave it as it is.

Indeed, all she needs is a bit of product to give it definition and it would be stunning. Mine is considerably less curly than hers but doesn't respond well to straightening, go with nature would be my advice. Still, she should have more time on her hands now to experiment.

Question- is it real or is it permed? is it coloured?

it's "statement" hair. not flattering at 43 and overpowers her face.

You would never get a perm that looks like that.

Report
WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 17/07/2011 09:15

It does overpower her face a bit I agree, would look more professional tied back during the day. But it could be amazing (am thinking of Alex Kingston). I wouldn't have thought a perm could give that much curl to that length of hair without completely trashing it?
