LK Bennett Sledge Shoes...leather soles

Eeeek i have just spent my rainy day fund on a pair of these beauties...

[http://www.lkbennett.com/shoes/courts/CCSLEDGE201PATENT] Felt a bit sick ordering them but I have 4 weddings to go to and they'll look nice with skinnies on nights out so i figure cost per use makes it easier to bear!

Anyhow, leather soles?? Never had a pair with leather soles before! Will they be ok outdoors or do they need a rubber sole???

I have Gucci shoes all with leather soles, they are good, but will need replacing sooner.

How is the fit? I have slightly trucks for feet wide feet and I'm wondering how they would go. Are they comfortable?

Hi

I have lots of LK Bennett shoes (mainly bought in the sales, so can justify purchases to DH), the leather is a pain on the soles, very luxurious but soooo impractical.

Take them to a good bootmaker and get rubber soles put on as soon as you get them. This will prolong their life and might make you feel better about your purchase!

I love these and am most jealous, had my eye on them but burnt a hole in my Visa last month so trying to restrain myself.

Enjoy!

Ah, another online shopper. Thanks, hope they fit you. We are heading over tonight to the UK, and they're on my shopping list.

I bought some heels from LKBenett recently, with leather soles, & the lady in the shop recommended I take them to a cobbler's & have a half sole fitted, to make them last longer. Haven't done so yet, but think I will, given that their shoes are £££!

sandgroper how does the fit of LK Bennet shoes go? I only have espadrilles from them, can't compare to a leather shoe.

I love the sledge. Particularly the charcoal. I don't own them, yet though! I have had leather soled shoes before, and they were fine. Probably a good idea to get them soled if you're going to wear them regularly. I am very jealous. And of the fact you have opportunity to wear them.

They arrived bright and early this morning - yay! But they were too big - boo! Am usuall a 5 - 5.5 or sometimes a 6, but the 5.5 (38.5) too big. Width wise, I'd guess suitable for narrow to average width feet, nit sure how they'd be if you have really wide feet.

The bronze colour not as bronze as id hoped, so am hoping to order some lk Bennett idina in taupe instead.

Gutted!!

Hi

Sorry been a bit busy... I am surprised they are too big, what a PITA!! I have very narrow feet and have never had a problem with them. I am a size 37, though sometimes I am a 38 in their shoes depends on what they are.. How disappointing but well done you for ordering another pairGrin

I do like the Idina ones, go on you know you want to!

Hi HerRoyalNotness (love the name)

Sorry I was not reading the posts properly. DS2 very rudely interrupting my MN time. They are good for narrow feet, well all the ones I have bought anyway, not aware that they come up particularly big. Maybe other MNer's might have a different experience though.

Have never ordered them online, always tried them on in the shop, though I know that is not always possible!

I agree that LKB are good for narrow feet.

Leather soles v impractical and slippery, I avoid them as I can guarantee I will have a couple of drinks and then slip over on a stair [hblush]

Gasp! Just shoes?! Well yes, they are, but they are really really lovely high heeled shoes. Need them - lots.

LK bennett soles are awful, I have other shoes with leather soles that I have worn for years without having to rubberise them but the LK bennett ones seem to be quite thin and not durable at all, the slightest bit of moisture ruins them. I don't get why they sell such expensive shoes then tell you to get your own soles for them! Those shoes are lovely though OP, hope you enjoy them!

LKB are great. The leather soles are usually fine (although I commute to/from work in flats so mine get less outside use than many). They can be lethal on a wet day though. Any cobbler will add a rubber sole on top of the leather where the impact is - I usually only get this done when they need resoling.
