TK Maxx seems to have red leather bags quite frequently. I've seen Osprey bags (classic design, not 'exciting' but a good bag) in red in there several times. Could be worth a look if you're near a shop.

Red Radley on sale at Debenhams. Still over budget but not as much. I'm not a Radley fan myself but lots of people are.

yeah, the madison bag is cool.i like it too. out of all the ones mentioned, its the best
