Help me please with some 'out with girl's outfits'. I'm clueless!!

I'm going out with the girls next Saturday. I never go out, so I haven't got a clue whats hot and not??

I'm a size 16 top with 38DD's!, 14 is (borderline 16). I'm hankering after a maxi dress I think.

I've got a black maxi from Wallis, its got a few sparkles on the straps and under the boobs, made of a quite heavy material, its almost an evening dress? BUT, what shoes do I wear. I know everyone was wearing flats/flip flops, but I feel underdressed with flats on?

What kind of shoes would you put with this maxi dress? Black or coloured ones? Flats, wedges etc?

I open to buying a new dress and shoes, so if you have any suggestions?

The other girls are younger, skinny and I want to feel nice, so any help would be appreciated? (If you haven't guessed I don't feel particularly good about myself)!
