So, AIBU for just not getting Lush?

My children buy me stuff from there all the time for Mothers' day etc and I can see the joy in buying from there, the ditzy packaging and luscious smells etc. BUT why is it fun to use bath bombs which leave you and your bath covered in glitter/petals/twigs etc.

I have dutifully dropped them into the bath so the wee ones can see them whizz and fizz etc but I then never want to get into my bath once it has 'bits' floating in it.

Enlighten me please.

They have some lovely stuff that isn't stinky and smelly. I agree the bombs are a nightmare, although the DCs love them.

I use their skincare stuff and it is great. Also like their solid henna bars.

I meant twiggy and smelly.

I've never had anything which hasn't been bought by a child and therefore reeks to high heaven and fills the bath with debris Grin

Even worse, my DD (8) has been invited to a Lush Birthday Party!!! [shudder]

Hee Hee I saw your title and thought you wanted a dedicated section within S&B where people can get all ranty and rude about each other's outfits. With deleted threads and bunfights and dramatic troll unmaskings when someone slips up and reneges on their stated positions on Uggs etc.

(Disclaimer - I'm not a regular so maybe S&B is already like that!)

My SIL (to be) always buys me Lush stuff for presents. She's 28 and should frankly know better !

Yep SinicalSal that sounds like a typical day on S&B Grin

I joined the boycott when Lush were supportng an extremist organisation, the Hunt Sabateurs Association.

It's completely revolting. Just walking past the shop gives me a headache.

they only have a few bombs that have the twigs and glitter, most are lovely, just ask the kids to buy you non-glittering ones.

Yes sinical you have pretty much summed up S&B Grin

Lush is utter shite. I don't see the point of it at all. And it stinks.

Lush is horrible. DS1 bought me one of those sparkly bath bombs and I was washing it off my ladybits for weeks.

Might stick around in S&B Grin

During my first pg I had to walk past Lush on my way home from work - could smell it streets away and jeez it turned my stomach.

OTOH my sis said Buffy the Backside Slayer did wonders for the bumpy skin on the upper arms. Going back a bit now into ye olden days, mind.

HeavyHeidi I think expecting a 3 and 5 yr old to choose something plain when there is the option of twigs and petals and glitter and candid peel (I kid you not) and other wacky things, well... it's just not going to happen.

But do people really enjoy having flotsam and jetsam floating around in their bathwater?
