Are they not just universally horrible?

That's a jumpsuit, not a playsuit Wink

I personally like playsuits- hate jumpsuits though!

I thought they were all playsuits. Is a playsuit one with shorts then?

I still think they're all horrible though.

Playsuits are ones with shorts.

I believe they have been specially designed for 17 yr olds to wear so that when they are older they will look back and cringe.

I think playsuits can look nice with a pair of skyscraper wedges. I'd never wear one though, not my style.

Jumpsuits are wrong always!

All I can think of is trying to have a wee in a public convenience half naked and trying to prevent swathes of fabric landing in the puddle of urine left by the previous occupant. But maybe that's just me. Grin

That would put me off jumpsuits as well, MollysChamber. I don't like the stripping off aspect of them either, just to go for a wee. Jumpsuits, like puffed sleeves, should only be worn by people under six years old! Grin

I think they look awful. even worse are those jumpsuits with shiired elastic at the top and strapless and then shirred elatic leg cuffs! purlease, you all look ridiculous in them regardless of your age/build/height. especially those over 35 who still like to think they look 20 something.

Bugger, I meant playsuits in my last sentence. Where's an edit button when you need one! Blush

I dimly remember having a playsuit type thing with dungaree straps when I was about 14. If you used a public loo you had to be very careful if you didn't want to clip yourself round the ear with a pair of cold, pissy straps.

YY to horrible leg cuffs too. And strapless jumpsuits??? What the actual jeffing jeff?

Was just reminded of this gentlemen's edition from the 1970s.

I wonder if anyone was ever man enough to fill it? Grin

I love playsuits. I have a few and always get complimented when I wear them. They suit my figure. Hate going to the loo tho!

I love playsuits (obviously not all of them, some of them are grim), but I have a couple and they really suit me. They are, in fact, about the only thing that does.

If you are too old to play, you are too old for a playsuit.

(And I mean actually play, so for me that's anyone over the age of about 14, when the self-consciousness kicks in.)

I quite like playsuits and jumpsuits. Not everyone looks good in them tho and there are some hideous designs!

Awomancalledhorse · 04/07/2011 14:48

They're awful. Really shapless, even on the most toned women it makes them look like they've got saggy arses.
Not a huge fan of those strapless summer dresses either.

Awomancalledhorse Not all of them. My one has a lovely cinched waist, and the shorts are a little bit A line. More like this

i love jumpsuits, nice one on la redoute atm, they are always too short on the body on me though and i end up with very bad camel toe Grin

I think that they can look really nice on some people. You have to get a well cut one, though, or they can look a bit sack-like. I don't see why there is this hatred for them, though! If you don't like them, don't wear them! Smile

For me it's at least partly what flipthefrog said. I'm quite long in the body and most playsuit-type clothing giveth me the toe of the camel.

But generally they make even gorgeous, sylph-like women look as though they're wearing a cross between a babygro and their granny's curtains. It's just a bit wrong.

What are you supposed to play at in them? Not sandpits, clearly. Is it a euphemism for "dress like a swinger"?
