I have bought a new bag which I can return- it's a Modalu grab bag.

I do find that shoulder bags although they leave your hands free, give you poor posture and I do have a dropped shoulder now from carrying bags.

I've got a Radley messenger across the body bag which I use quite a bit but it doesn't hold much - phone, keys, lipstick, purse and that's it.

Somehow i can't help feeling like the queen with a double strap grab bag- so convince me otherwise please!

I've been thinking about that bag, which colour did you get? i also have a couple of radley messengers but because i carry such a big purse theres not room for much else.

Shoulder bags never stay on my shoulder - i have a primark tan grab bag and use it lots, its a good size, can hang on the pushchair and not drag on the wheels, can sit on my arm if i need to be hands free, i want to replace it for a similar bag in leather. I have a few radley messengers, kiplings and boden satchels and yet the tan primark is the one thats most used.

I think you've made a good choice.

I bought the Modalu Bristol small grab bag- but it is actually very roomy- one central section and 2 side sections- - would not want it any bigger as i am only 5'3 and size 10.

I think I got the last one from J Lewis online- all colours are now out of stock. i bought the brown which is a nice dark tan.

Agree with you over the Radley- I had to buy a new and very small cheap purse to use with mine as my wallet purse was too big and took up all the bag!

I owuld always go for a bag that I could wear over my shoulder.

I prefer shoulder bags as its easier to carry other stuff with, I also like bags with both a shoulder strap and a second across body strap - I have a couple of those too...

A top handle handbag would be a pain for me.....

don't you find though that with a shoulder bag you end up either hanging on to the strap to stop it falling off, or walking in such a way to stop it falling off which really messes up your posture?

If I spend a day shopping with a shoulder bag I end up with a really stiff neck or aching neck from the effort of keeping it on my shoulder- I have narrow shoulders.
