I have shocking undereye circles and have found that the best best thing is Benefit Erase Paste. Creamy with staying power. I also rate Boing.

One worth trying is Amazing Cosmetics Concealer. Here - but christ its expensive. How did I not notice that at the time. QVC give you your money back if you buy it, use it, hate it.

I like the Amazing one, it goes on beautifully, doesn't cling to lines or go weird, and its very well pigmented. I think the reason I like it so much is that its a good colour for me but it might not be for you so you probably won't want to spend £27

yes, erase paste is brilliant. benefit tinted moisturiser is good too and doesn't clog up your pores. :)

bobbi browns concealor is quite creamy and has good colours.

Bobbi Brown without a doubt- they have about 20 shades.I look dead without it.

I like Bobbi Brown but a good cheaper alternative is Barbara Daly at Tesco.

I've used erase paste for the past couple of years, but have just bought the Bobby Brown one that's a cream and a powder. There's also a corrector that goes on first if you have a lot of purple like me. The assistant put it on one eye and compared it to the other erase pasted one, and it did look better. Cost £40 altogether though. Stick with erase paste if you're not desperate budget-conscious.

Bobbi brown seems to be coming up a lot

I do think benefit stuff sounds good but can't get past the annoyingness of brand ( other thread I know!)

BOF does the no 7 stuff actually last? And what did you do on tv?!

I find it lasts really well, but I suppose these things always vary from person-to-person because your skin can be so different. It's got really good coverage though.

I couldn't possibly tell you what I used to do on tv, because I made it up to sound interesting I would have to kill you...

I've tried many brands in my quest, but it's Bobbi Brown for me too. I've even tried three of theirs, the eye brightener,the corrector and the one that comes in the duo pot with the sheer powder. The last one works the best for me, I have hideous dark circles and it's a miracle worker. It also deals with the dark pigment on my upper lip and the scarring on my cheekbones from an autoimmune flare. It has a very natural finish, I love it.

On a total curveball I ended up with Ellis Fass. Very very pigmented and so doesn't need a separate setting powder. And I accidentally bought one of their eyeshadows too. Quite a different looking line of makeup - all in tubes. A bit space agey and at first I was sceptical but it was infinitely better than Mac. And I'm a sucker for something new looking.

Bobbi Brown looked good too - with the separate powder. The Benefit gloop seemed good but my god those shops are heinous. The no7 didn't look like it would last long but good price.

Swear by...Estee Lauder DoubleWear Concealer. Good for under eye circles and as a primer. Whatever goes on top, stays the whole day!

Skyblue do report back on your progress with Ellis Faas! I don't know anyone who's tried it and I'd love some feedback. Especially whether is lasts well and whether the concealer goes into the creases or not without powder to fix it.

Ester Lauder's won't crease and stays put. Only 3 shades though.

Kittens I will - so far so good. It is quite liquid which I like but you have to work fast as it dries quickly. I haven't seen it on camera or film though to be able to give a MUA verdict but for recommending for everyday makeups, especially as no brush or powder needed, I like it.

What did you think of the hourglass stuff? I was with my sister who uses EL double wear and she wanted a change so she tried it. ALthough it is definitely waterproof it didn't seem to have the same level of coverage ( as she has quite bad acne she needs something heavier- well she feels she needs it anyway). I did think that primer seemed amazing but at the price I am not willing to chance it.

It's hard to say just from seeing it on counter. It did look really nice texture, although I couldn't help but be distracted by the sales girl's rather oily nose whilst she was telling me how great it was at all day oil control! I really like the idea of it not containing parabens, sulphates, silicones etc and not tested on animals. It is rather pricey but then, not far off brands like Chanel which I already use. I didn't really need anything for my kit when I went in so it will be a while before I actually decide to buy anything. I'm tempted by the liquid liner though, as it looks very similar to the Shu Uemura one I use myself which is the perfect one for application (on myself, not for kit due to hygiene) but is not very waterproof which is not ideal in times of hayfever! I couldn't help but be amused at the fact she was using "water resistant" as a selling point for the lipsticks and lip glosses though. I don't think I've ever seen lipstick run due to getting wet!

Whilst I was in town, I got a sample of MAC's ProLongwear foundation which I thought was really good and I do have acne and problem skin myself. It's a lot less heavy looking than EL Doublewear but gave pretty good buildable coverage so you could sheer it down pretty well too. At the end of the day I usually have some spots showing and a bit of a pink nose but not yesterday. I have been using the Pro Longwear concealer for a few weeks and find that really good too. Not generally a MAC Foundation fan but this is one I definitely like. The Studio Sculpt one is great for heavy coverage too.

Yes that's funny she does have an oily nose! But was quite persuasive and seemed to know her stuff. I did wonder about the waterproofness of everything to be honest as I don't know many people who want to go swimming in makeup. I know it means it is durable but I do think it is a bizarre selling point. And how do they get it waterproof yet no parabans, silicons etc. I liked the bronzer, blush duo - I liked the colours and if they last then brilliant. But I am waiting for feedback re sister as to wether they actually do last.

That is interesting about the Mac foundation. I never think of Mac for bases as there is a sort of snobbery isn't there. People would rather see LM or Armani etc. I have had one too many models tell me they are 'allergic' to Mac.

Well, she did say their products sell very well in the more humid areas of the USA which I can understand. I can also see they would be really useful in a professional capacity, especially under hot lights where actors, presenters and dancers can get very sweaty. I would've been very keen on this feature back in the day when I used to do a lot of music videos where people danced and sweated buckets but there was little time for touch ups but I no longer have the patience or stamina for 18+ hour days anymore so this is not on my radar quite so much these days. I do get a lot of sweaty presenters and actors still though. Mmmm.

I have been told Chanel foundations are water resistant to but I've yet to put it to the test.

I guess MAC have had to up their game with their bases what with HD nowadays. I'm quite glad because they are the least difficult brand to get free products from in terms of editorial credits. And, of course, their pro discount is very helpful when you get through a lot of products! The new Illamasqua bases came out yesterday and are supposed to be amazing. We'll see....

when I can be bothered I use Bobbie Brown, particularly good after the moisturiser and corrector for heavy duty but natural looking coverage IMO
