its ok
not sure its worth the money though
its just a jersey dress

trixymalixy Thu 16-Jun-11 18:25:07

I've tried it on and couldn't see why people were raving about it. I have a simulate dress from topshop that is much more flattering and nicer material.

trixymalixy Thu 16-Jun-11 18:25:32

Similar!!

SarkyLady Thu 16-Jun-11 18:26:56

Which one?

cybbo Thu 16-Jun-11 18:32:19

Oh dear

Thats an anticlimax isn't it
Are you going to keep?

madammecholet Thu 16-Jun-11 18:36:41

Oh strutter it was me that linked to it. sad Sorry you are disappointed, I have a similar one in Navy and I've loved it...

Strutter Thu 16-Jun-11 18:56:25

im not sure... will try again

noddyholder Thu 16-Jun-11 18:57:04

What is the jersey like? Is it heavier than 'normal'?

c0rn51lk Thu 16-Jun-11 18:57:42

glad I resisted then

Strutter Thu 16-Jun-11 18:58:00

corny
how many different variations on your name will you have?!!

c0rn51lk Thu 16-Jun-11 19:15:57

ha ha grin I have loads...

ColonelBrandonsBiggestGroupie Thu 16-Jun-11 19:19:28

Does it not make your bottom look all lovely and emphasise your waist? You've got a duff one then! smile Then again, I looked in the Selfridges sale last night and was distinctly underwhelmed by them this time. Does anybody know when the White Company sale starts? They are not as glam/exciting as Viv but I think the jersey is better quality.

c0rn51lk Thu 16-Jun-11 19:20:20

Isabella Oliver jersey dresses are lovely

Strutter Thu 16-Jun-11 19:29:14

you old slagg colonel

will go and try on for longer than 5 mins

am up to ears in work atm

notyummy Thu 16-Jun-11 19:41:19

I think it depends on baby shape. I ordered and tried one with great expectations, but as a pear with a small waist I just didn't find it that flattering.

Strutter Thu 16-Jun-11 20:46:27

Right. Went round to mates. She liketh mucho.

ColonelBrandonsBiggestGroupie Thu 16-Jun-11 22:10:50

Post a headless pic and we'll tell you too! I was really nervous when I got mine as I am curvy and blobby but I posted a pic on here (was v v scared to do so) and people were v kind. Now I love it and don't care what anybody else thinks! smile It has been worth every penny because I must have worn it at least once a week since buying it.

ColonelBrandonsBiggestGroupie Thu 16-Jun-11 22:11:36

It's dead easy to handwash too and dries quickly with no need for ironing unless you're v fussy (which I, clearly, am not).

Strutter Thu 16-Jun-11 22:17:06

Once a week?!! Is party related for me. To clingy for work.

Geordieminx Thu 16-Jun-11 22:17:24

I bought pink one and was tres disappointed. Pissy material, and no real shape to it. Think 2 janice dresses from phase 8 were far better quality and much more flattering. Was wrong length on me too ( am only 5"2)

ColonelBrandonsBiggestGroupie Thu 16-Jun-11 22:22:32

My Janice one has a hole in so I don't rate the quality. sad

My VW isn't quite as slinky as your one - it has tiny fluttery sleeves and a flirtier skirt. I wear it with a t-shirt under or a cardi over and with boots etc, as well as wearing it just in its own right.

Strutter Thu 16-Jun-11 22:27:48

Mine. Is SEXY. NO. Doubt.

HonestyBox Fri 17-Jun-11 00:13:41

I've got this from all saints and it is great as a drapey/clingy dress. It looks much better /less weird on than in the pic and the fabric is heavy and hides a multitude of sins. I know there are all saints haters galore here but worth looking in there for basics sometimes.

cybbo Fri 17-Jun-11 07:50:24

Ahh. Strutter is FINALLY sexy. AND it is isnt stripey

<proud>
