Jigsaw Amelie bag

Looking for opinions on this bag
www.jigsaw-online.com/fashion/1001368/J12041/GY016/sale/leather-amelie-shopper

I ordered this online as in need of a new work bag and looked like a bargain! It's bigger than I thought, but this could be a positive, I don't travel that lightly.... but also the leather hasn't got that lovely soft feel ( possibly why in sale as certainly wouldn't pay £250 for it).
I do like the peony and moore one that has been recommended on here but it's not really big enough. Willing to pat up to £250 or could just stick with the jigsaw bag and buy something else!

I linked to that bag on another thread, it looked nice, but you are not the first to say the leather wasn't great i'm afraid, its such a huge reduction I would assume this is why it hasn't sold.

I also found this one for someone else, which looks lovely in John Lewis.

Bunty bag

I have the P&M Lucia which has gorgeous leather, but not big enough for A4 folders etc....

I've got one in the tan colour - it's lovely. Can carry lots of crap useful things in it and goes with everything. It's a steal too as well - even the staff in my local jigsaw didn't understand why it was such a big reduction Grin

Oh and would agree that the leather is not baby soft, but it's (so far) tolerating misuse less than delicate treatment I throw at it every day quite well!

I posted this on Saturday 'have you seen that bag in the flesh? I rushed into town just now, having seen it on-line and was disappointed. It was OK value for £79, but the leather was not very good quality imo and I can't imagine they sold many at £249 (hence them being in the sale I suppose).'

Sorry Stepaway - I feel a bit rude typing that when you have it - but yours must have come from a very different cow from the ones I saw.

Have ordered the Bunty bag as madammecholet made me as Madammecholet very kindly found me a list of nice bags - will tell you what it is like when it arrives

Don't worry Smile I certainly wouldn't have spent £250 on it, and the leather is perfectly 'ok' on mine - and it's the size I need so I'm happy with it! And this way I can justify another expensive bag for a/w Grin

Glad you like the bag stepaway - I'm still debating. Have just ordered this and will decide which one to keep (absolutely not keeping both!)

I really love the bunty bag and might have to have a trip to JL later this week to have a look at it (as well.....)

I like the look of the Jigsaw bag but I do feel it may have flaws if it is so greatly reduced. Warped thinking but usually turns out to be true, sadly.

We're just discussing that Boden bag on the other thread. I have it in tan and it's very lovely (and that's coming from someone who is usually not impressed with Boden bags).

Newchoos - If by chance you go to John Lewis and see a Modalu bag that you like, check out their website first. Some of the bags are £50 cheaper on thereConfused.

Chocolate bunty bag arrived today - v disappointed and about to rush to post office now as can't get it out of house soon enough.

Gorgeous leather - much nicer than Jigsaw one, but hideous gold gilt cheap looking clasp - eugh.

Wondering about boden slouchy too.

PS how do suede bags wear? do they go shiny and revolting after a time?

NewChoos · 15/06/2011 15:00

mudandmayhem Thanks for the news on the Bunty, won't make JL a priority now :)

I have had a chocolate suede bag and it did go a bit shiny in places.

Will report back re Boden slouchy but am thinking will be more suitable than jigsaw one and am almost certain I will return it now.

BUNTY ALERT actually NewChoos, I have just noticed that the clasp on the tan Bunty is different from that on the chocolate one. I have ordered tan too, so will let you know what it is like. Such a shame, as the leather is nice and on-line the clasp looks OK.

Hi mud sorry the Bunty was no good... Sad Liz Cox stuff nice.... i've also seen and felt Owen Barry bags in our local boutique, they're cheap and nasty though..... Very thin, a bit plain and the finish on them is really poor.... yuk yuk...

MmeCholet - thanks for the suggestion of the Bunty anyway - it wasn't evident from the on-line picture what the clasp was like. I think they had deliberately changed the look of it to make it look less glitzy and cheap. Gorgeous leather - I did consider cutting the clasp out!

Shame about the Owen Barry bags.

I have the Jimmie in cerise from Owen Barry and it's a wonderful bag and gets compliments everywhere I go. I'm a die hard Jaeger fan for bags usually so this was a complete diversion, but literally went into a shop and fell in love with it on the spot.

mudandmayhem Will be interested to hear about the tan, shame about the chocolate though as that was my preference.

moragbellingham Thanks for the tip about the modalu bags, I do like the Pippa but think I can't buy one as I can't join the Pippa M fanclub (bored of hearing about her!)

Woopsidaisy - your jigsaw bag is lovely. Very tempted by it too.

The tan Bunty arrived today (and will be leaving shortly for the Post Office). It was much nicer than the chocolate, but same cheap looking clasp.
