well done bloss

red so exciting re handbag fund - great that you are going to treat yourself, and good time of the year to be looking! are you looking for something casual or formal? colour?

on the subject of bags.... my hands took over from my head and I have a mini Alexa in watermelon en route for approval - wise though as it sold out (?!) Will have to see what I think when I get it and be sensible about it if I am not going to get the use out of it.

I have been most avid of late, must stop and take stock, but these sales are very tempting....!

Thanks Bloss!

To be honest Emo, I probably already treat myself more than I should..! But, I have never bought a 'high-end' item before. Like Petit I will be taking myself up to Selfridges when the time comes and skipping around with the bag for as long as possible. So, my life means something that isn't too formal. Something like a Bayswater wouldn't really suit me as my style errs on the casual. Tan seems to work with everything I have.

And well done on the Alexa! I don't imagine you'll regret that purchase for a second.

NY - meant to say that the party sounded amazing. Incredibly thoughtful of the mother to put together a party that has something for everyone.

Red I plan to PM you abuot the book when I have some time to discuss it properly!

welcome to the Carciofini! Hurray!

Ladies, I have a mission for you. I have 2 events to go to with DH this week, and yes, I have some dresses I COULD wear but I'm wearing them all the time and don't want to wear them. DH says I have to save my Issa for a v special occasion in Australia and as he bought it for said occasion I supposed I have to indulge him. So, I would like a new dress. Extreme avidity and saving for Saks shopping day (squeee!) means budget of less than £200. Cocktail length; suitable for drinks and semiformal dinner. I am a dark autumn,5'8 spider (heh heh Bloss) with good legs but a midsection I don't love. Best colours are orange, red, chocolate, peacock, teal. Open to suggestions though. Must be able to get dress by Thurs!! (eek).

Ooh, Roary - were you thinking of visiting shops, in which case, which ones can you get to?

If not, are you just going to fork out extra for special delivery?

NY I will visit shops I can get to in Ox (most High St ones incl LK Bennet, but nothing I like there in my size) or order special delivery. If I ordered tonight I'd get it, right?

This to show off arms and flatter tummy?

This? Because it is gorgeous and I want someone to buy it so I can live vicariously through them...

I can second NY's last recommendation - it is exactly the same cut as our bridesmaid's dresses here. The ruching around the tummy is very flattering and the fabric very forgiving. Was my preferred choice of the two, but the colour didn't suit DSis at all.

And, I very much look forward to an Every Last One dialogue; online book group anyone?!

roary - I know you said you don't like anything in LKB but have you tried this on? My friend has it in the rose colour and it is cut beautifully. The fushia is in the sale but may not be your colour?

Can't go wrong with Vivienne??

Ladies - you are stars. I have added a wedding photo (because it happens to be on work computer) - hairstyle out of date and figure fuller around the middle (pre dcs) but you get the picture.

Will click on more links. Love NY's last choice but suspect the nude would not be my colour.

mme really like that sparkly VW but tis over budget and am being STRICT due to forthcoming Saks trip!
NY local Reiss has that dress in stock so I am off to visit it on my way home from work!
annie I am self-diagnosed dark autmn due to ability to wear quite a lot of deep colours and the fact that many of the HoC autumn colours are appalling on me (and some really v good but these are all intense). Will report back. May even be brave and take pic in the dress in shop to show you all.

petitdonkey · 13/06/2011 14:51

red - this is the Reiss shirt that they didn't have in store but I wanted to try, might just order it. Have downloaded the book so will let you know when I start it.

There is also this. Can't remember your size though?

Alas, I fear a lot of the Reiss dresses are sold out in most sizes - the Catherine effect perhaps?
