TattyDevine, would you mind if I very briefly gatecrash your thread? To you and any others on here:

Love the tan Lucia, but also really like the pink Mariella Bottles mentioned. We have to buy our boss something for a big anniversary thing at work. She's around 60, stylish and loves bright colours. E.g. she often wear a bright pink (sounds horrid, but actually beautiful) jacket over black work dress etc. We've got a pool of £250. My question: As a "forever" kind of gift, would you think it is better to go with the safer tan option, or just go with the pink Mariella as it's very much her, if that makes any sense? Really sorry to ask on here, but you lot seemed to know exactly what you're talking about! Thanks.

oohhh missalaneous....Pink Mariella, she can always exchange for tan Lucia if she prefers it? or buy her gift vouchers and let her choose herself?

I have the Lucia in grey and love it!!- not just the colour but the bag itself is so ' right for everything'!! If you want a 'forever' kind of gift the Lucia is it ! - honestly - in any colour - it is such a versatile bag and is so ageless - looks great and on trend on older ladies and very stylish and easy on younger models! - - maybe the darker colour for older and the lighter colours for younger ?? ( maybe not!!) but have to say I am lusting after this new one now -- how can I justify two?? - want it -want it - want it - - - - - -! - and I will - - - - somehow ! Wink

Gift vouchers would be good and sensible, but the majority feeling was for an actual gift, so I'd would need to pick something. But good point, she can always exchange it, can't she? Ok thank you, I'll go ahead and order that one.

Thanks, and sorry OP. :)

OP, I'll stop messing up your thread - but thank you so much for the tan info anyway, am considering it for myself. However, bought a snake Modalu Pippa the other day, so can't really justify another.

Will post a thread of my own with voting for one hour - if equal or no more votes, I'll toss a coin!

MisSalLaneous - has to be the pink Mariella. imo much, much more interesting and stunning than the Lucia

I reckon pink mariella for your boss. I always think the beauty of a gift is something you wouldn't necessarily spend alot of money on yourself? Tan is very versatile all rounder which alot of people own...but that stunning pink mariella is a real spoil and utterly beautiful!!

thats just my thoughts....

Anonymousbird, think of it as an investment. In fact, it will stop you from buying a Mulberry or something, therefore the bag will actually be saving you money

I look on bags now as an investment and choose good quality ones that last more than a season ( but could never justify Mulberry prices) - my Evelina I bought from them last year is just like new still - and I am quite hard on bags --

I agree tatty, I think these bags are how Mulberry used to be, the leather is really gorgeous and soft and smells like leather should. I have bought Mulberry in the past and to be honest I am now a convert to peony & moore...plus you can buy 3 for the price of 1. I like that!Wink
