The right sort of jeans?

I have always thought that for my size (size 20, plus one size, or minus depending on brand) I should be wearing boot-cut. However, some boot-cut are quite close-fitting round the knee, which is not a good luck, and if you get the size bigger which avoids this, they only 'fit where they touch' iuswim. Should I have a go at Boyfriend Jeans, or give up altogether and just buy reasonable black trousers? I am reasonably tall if you think it makes a difference.

On the whole I think boyfriend jeans tend to add bulk and look better on the v slim. I still think bootcut could work on you - what is wrong with fitting around the knee? I also have skinny flares which I think work quite well for pear shapes. What kind of shape are you?

Big hourglass - I have thought that about boyfriend jeans before. I noticed in the Next catalogue that if you pay about £100 for a pair of jeans they seem to be cut not quite so close at the knee in the bootcut version, but I don't want to invest that when I'm trying to lose the weight. It just seems to emphasise my plump knees!

If you are not too keen on your knees then the skinny flares probably aren't for you. Have you tried Gap Long and Lean? Don't be put off by the name - they are not just for the lean! They are supposed to have that effect on your figure. here.

Thanks notyum - btw have had a sneaky look at your profile and I think you're being ironic - I used to look a lot better when I ran too!

I gave myself name whilst pregnant in a feminist moment reacting against the tyranny of being expected to look good AND have babies AND a great career. Have never got round to changing it and its kind of stuck! Yes - running and shredding both good for allowing me to keep up my cake habit Grin
