What dress for a 5ft 3, size 16 hour glass figure?

I would love to have a smart/casual dress to wear out to dinner for my birthday. I know patterns look wrong on me but I'm fed up with just plain black. Knee length suits me best, need sleeves or a cardigan too!

I'm very big in the boob department so don't like clingy, but have to have something relatively fitted or else I look pg.
Shoes-I usually wear platform wedges to balance my not so slim calves.

Any ideas greatly appreciated, thankyou.

Have you tried Bravissimo? Just got their new catalogue and they have a new clothing company too - pepper-something - am sure if you google them their website will mention it! They have some lovely bits.

Yes I've just receive their catalogue. To me their clothes would just accentuate my bust rather than flatter it.
Thanks for your reply.

Oh no mumtoted I thought the same until I tried them on. It's a revelation! I'm 36G and Bravissimo (Pepperberry now) are the only place to buy tops/dresses that flatter and and fit me. I look 7lbs lighter in their clothes :) Changed my wardrobe. I'd urge you to try one on and see if you change your mind x

If not, I've read good things about Isabella Oliver wrap dresses that flatter the curvacious :)

I had read on here that Whistles dresses were good for curvy girls. Unfortunately couldn't afford that so went for the Asda's own version here . What do you think?

What about Vivienne of Holloway? I love their dresses, just wish I had the bust to fill one!

mumtoted, that dress looks nice.

But - if you ever get the chance to visit Pepperberry (I think some are within Bravissimo shops, although my local one has opened up a completely new store), do have a try-on. I find their stuff very flattering because it fits everywhere and gives me a waist.
