Can't afford Clarins skincare any more - any ideas ?

Have used Clarins for a while but two kids and one salary less later there is no way I can afford it. I am just getting to the end of the products I have so I need to find some new ones.
I have combination skin, a bit wrinkly in the eye area ! and a bit dry on the cheeks. Any suggestions about brands that might be worth trying - looking for skincare and make up.
thanks

I've just discovered that Aveeno cream is a very good facial moisturiser, about £7 for a big tube.

I'm still looking for a good cleanser.

Thanks - just looked for some reviews on the Aldi stuff and it looks very popular - will give it a go

Simple all the way... I used clarins for years, and my skin has never been better since I stopped!

My skin reacted to the Aldi moisturiser, but at under £3 a pot it's not a big loss! Use it as handcream.

I use simple facewash and oil of olay total effects - and I have recently added a clinique redness solns one morning and night cheeks only.

I switched from Clinique facial wash to Simple facial wash and have not noticed a difference. I also like Simple moisturiser.

I have the Simple eye make up remover and that is fine. My skin is combination but quite easily irritated as well so maybe the Simple products might be better than Aldi ?
I used Clinique years back but found it way too harsh for my skin

I use simple all the time too

The simple face gel is brilliant - gentle and cleansing to the perfect extent (for me that is! normalish skin) - however, I tried the foaming face wash version, and that was really drying - went back to gel version...

The simple light moisturiser moisturises literally, quite lightly, but has never caused any reactions with my skin - which is prone to becoming sensitive.

Have you a Waitrose anywhere near you? Can absolutely recommend their own simple skincare range called PURE. Each item is £1.97. I use their eye makeup remover, wash cleanser (which even removes my Estee Lauder Double Wear Light foundation - stay put stuff!!) and their toner. I have to say IT'S EXCELLENT.

For a skin treatment, I push the boat out with the Olay (yes, Olay!) Regenerist 3 Point Serum (NOT the cream) which is £30 at Boots or, £15 on the internet.

I'm very please with this combo. My skin's clearer (with the cleansing routine) and I definitely don't look as tired with the serum! Also, you can use the serum as eye cream so, no extra cost there!!

another vote for Simple skin care. Affordable and very good.

I find Clarins has got very expensive. The older you get the more expensive it is, so Im wondering about other products... Anyone know anything about the skin product range of Yves Rocher ?

Yves rocher eye make up remover is great.

I use simple eye make up remover (I've tried lots and this is better than any of the big brands IMO).

Then I use Nip & Fab Glycolic Fix pads to cleanse/exfoliate. A MN recommendation and I luff them. I've been using them for a week or so and my skin is much smoother and brighter.

Haven't found a good cheap moisturiser yet so will watch the thread for recommendations.

I've jsut switched from Clarins night cream to the M&S Formula one which is fantastic. I did switch to a Vichy lifting day cream but it made me break out horribly so went back to Clarins (which I agree is just too expensive now - have their prices leapt about £6 / pot???)

If you want to go cheaper still, aldi face washes are basically the same as the Simple gel and cream face washes. Both are 99p.

Boots botanics? They have an oil which is similar to clarins blue orchid, it's about £10 and my skin likes it. I actually have some of botanics moisturisers too and they are super cheap, good quality for the price.
Nip and fab is great too. I'm a sucker for a face cream, can you tell?

Sanctuary face oil for night. Embryolisse moisturiser for day (boots online) Body shop Camomile cleanser and the vitamin toner.

Not super cheap but better than clarins and without any of the shit preservatives and chemicals I'm allergic to

I bought clarins at a discounted price off the website all beauty, they where labelled as duty free, not even sure if thats allowed. But I got a day and night time moisturiser for about £25. Exceptional value. Sometimes stock is hit and miss but for anyone who likes a bargain I thought I'd mention it. Good site for niche perfumes which are hard to souce too.

Have you tried buying the big sample sizes on ebay? Tubes are sealed so you know they haven't been used. EG 30 ml moisturiser for around £10, the full size product (50ml) can be £40-£50.

I've been trying lots of Boots. Italics products recently and they have all been pretty good. Always on offer - half price or 3 for 2 etc. Makes them super cheap.

I dont notice any difference between boots number 7 skincare and either clarins or clinique. In fact I prefer boots serums and moisterisers.

I do like the clinique face wash but find either Sanctuary, boots botanics or no 7 washes very very similar apart from the price. I have tried a few bits from Aldi but didnt like it. It was quite scented and my skin can be a bit sensitive.

I absolutely love Organic Surge moisturisers and buy them whenever I see them in TK Maxx - they are very good for my ultra-sensitive skin, and the face wash smells delicious and is very gentle. I also like Origins Checks & Balances face wash - not cheap, but a tube lasts for months at a time.

I recommend both the Waitrose Pure or Aldi creams, they are both good ona budget.
