so is there anything in partic i do now?

sorry, i know its probably been done before but couldn't trawl through all the old UGG messages to find out!

i've put them on an extra spin, stuffed them with newspaper and put them in the boiler cupboard to dry.

is that right?? thanks Smile

unless they are actually slippers are you hoping that they will be ruined thus forcing you to buy attractive footwear?

yes thats right..newspaper stuffed in tight to keep shape..I always vanish my toes first as they have a tide mark from the rain.

Yes that's fine, I did mine last year and they came out well.

thanks for replies. wish i'd vanished the toe bits too as you can still see the tide mark!

they're dry now and looking so much better but the outer is not as soft - is that a result of washing or will wearing them a bit help loosen them up?

also, while i'm boring you all with my UGG dilemma Grin it would appear that my big toe has made a real dent in the sheepskin inside and looks almost like a hole might appear on the outside - any tips on what i can do to stop that happening?

thanks v much!

did yoiu use a wool or delicate detergent. If you washed in normal powder it will have made them a bit hard. As for the toe , that is probably just the way you walk. Not much you can do about that :(

damn why didn't i ask these questions before i did it?! i used Fairy Non Bio liquid rather than a wool/silk detergent.

any chance they might soften up - someone say yes before i get really depressed Sad

for whoever is asking, mine are genuine too.
they do look much better for the wash.

I washed mine last year. Used non bio liquid and they are fine. Sat them on top of a towel on the radiator to dry. They are fine. Still going strong this year.

Wink

OP sure yours will be fine too.

Do you just put them on a delicates cycle? I'd love to wash mine but I'm too scared! I know they're not everyone's cup of tea but I love mine

Just buff them up with a suede block or brush, mine get done regularly.

OhCobblers · 14/01/2011 21:21

maxy really? after all these years i hadn't noticed!! i do have a habit of wearing mine with no socks on - do you think thats bad for them?

no, can't be as they're slippers right - i guess maybe i shouldn't wear them on long jaunts then? Grin
