To start the ball rolling

Will we be mainly doing flares or skinnies SS11?

Both Mac.

I have bought 3 pairs of skinnies over the past 2/3 months and do like them (it has taken me until now to buy skinnies....)

However - I have Gap Long and Lean, and TS skinny flare in my wardrobe and was delighted to see pretty much exactly the same cuts shown in Grazia yesterday as the 'next big thing.' I may venture to try the premium denim version of the skinny flare in a couple of months...perhaps during my personal shopping trip!

I love the Theysken Theory look - flared indigo jeans with simple tops tucked in. I would have to wear with a high wedge as am too short.

I have no flares at moment, only skinnies which are easier for me to wear

I too am on a pre-meet up diet (not had any Mars Planets for 5 days - such sacrifice!)
Verity thank you for saying that you too have had your share of trips to A&E! Makes me feel better! Fab Hasbeens bargain and pleased that your aunt showed signs of improvement - hope it continues.
Redliquorice - thats the green kindle cover I had my eye on! I think I will succomb - so many people say that once you have one, you instantly become attached to it! (I will call mine Felicity - Kindle - get it?!)
Looby - pleased you hope to come to the meet up.
Pickled - Zumba is like a mix of salsa, aerobics, we even did some bollywood style dancing! V fast tho and just as I'd got the hang of one move, we were on to the next one!
Fleecy - you ok? Hope you are feeling better now?
Esher - I liked the red ballerina's you linked to a lot and fully intend to continue to wear mine SS11. Not the same in terms of shoe type but I saw this red shoes and snakeskin bag combo with a cream dress on this link here and liked - that cream Next dress I linked to last week would work well with somthing similar?scroll down 2/3rds, on RHS

Thanks for the new thread mac
I can't see me coming out of my skinnies permanently although I might get the jbrand indigo flares I saw in Heat this week. I do need to wear a heel with them though to balance me out!
I admit I have just restocked on Jigsaw Bretons. I have bought the grey and the midnight (wise and avid!)
Thanks everyone for your comments re DS. It's good to share! Hope the poo situation doesn't last too long tracey and first day won't be too traumatic tomorrow.
I was thinking of MAC at 4pm in Selfridges?

Blossoming - What does the Mac session do? Is is basically a makeover from a beautician that you pay for....or a free one where they (understandably) try to sell you things?

if anybody who had me as yangymac on their mumsnet mates could change it to my new name macmama I would appreciate it so that I can still view piccies thanks

Will definitely try some flares, see what I think - I think on shorties they have to be worn very long with a chunky heel underneath to look any good.

OWW, I love the sound of Bollywood dancing.

So, what's the cost of a visit to the MAC counter for a makeover only? You don't have to buy all the products they use on you, do you? Can you tell I don't get out much? Grin

Hello, I'm back! Lovely holiday. Dubai was just fun, like a big playground with lots of fun things to do in the sunshine. Great shops, but I didn't buy anything. At all Shock. Too many kids and husband all there all the time. But it was all great. Couple of days in Istanbul at the end for a bit of kulcha. The boys actually managed to enjoy that too, esp the golden daggers at Topkapi Treasury - they played Sultans and Princes the whole time we were there.

Anyhow, anyone fancy doing a résumé?

I have to make Xmas dinner (sort of) now. We haven't done presents yet, so are having a 'party'.

notyummy and pickled, it's my understanding that you make an appointment, and they do your make up for you. Then you pay! I'll phone them for details and report back. Will try first thing tomorrow or just before they close tonight.

Welcome back Roma Happy Christmas party!!

Happy New Year, roma! I want to quizz you about the English curriculum at the Brussels lycée... any chance?

Very scared to read of diets in anticipation of our March meetup as I have managed to eat three very large slices of galette des rois in the past 24 hours, as well as a lot of petits fours and several glasses of champagne. And the weather is just vile here, wet and windy, and it is really hard to be cheerful and upbeat, even while trying to garner support for our Greek villa holiday.

On a brighter, more topical note, the sales person at the Marni stand at Printemps rang me today to invite me to the pre-sales @ -40% for loyal customers Blush. Should I pop over tomorrow afternoon? [rhetorical question emoticon]
