My mum wants a tunic top for Christmas. Help!

My mum is a very young 65 and a trim size 10. She has recently been to see a personal shopper, and has discovered the joys of jeggings/skinnies and long tops, worn with long boots.

So she has asked me to buy her a nice long bum-covering top/tunic for Christmas.

But I can't find anything in the shops!

She won't like anything too flouncy, hippyish or young-looking, it could be knitted, or jersey; I'll know it when I see it, but so far I haven't spotted anything remotely suitable!

Any ideas, oh stylish ladies?

Have you looked at the White Company or Hush?

Was also going to suggest White Company. Have you looked at Boden?

My mum's 60 and we took her to a personal shopper for her 60th. She wears legiings/jeggings and long tops all the time. She's got some from next, dp, wallis, debenhams...?

Try Very.co.uk

I'll have a look...

Thanks for the ideas!

The Hush ones are lovely, but not really her (tempted myself, though).

The ones I like from White Company are sold out.

I had a look in Wallis, not bad, but I'm not sure about the handkerchief hem. And she doesn't like purple! Or wrap-style tops!

I think she'd go for something a little more colourful.

You see my problem.......

Keep 'em coming!

I realise they might be longer than you are looking for but both are a really good shape.

Monsoon does a good selection of everyday or dressy tunic tops.

Thanks - there are some nice ones from Monsoon, particularly the jumper dress type. I must go and have a look in store.

Isn't the presentation on their website dreadful, though? The clothes hardly look their best on a size 6 plastic mannequin with bandy legs. They really ought to find a proper model.

Last night I ordered a few things from M&S which might suit. Fingers crossed.
