Do those 'party feet' things actually work?

I have a pair of high-heeled shoes which I love but are pretty uncomfortable to stand around in (balls of my feet hurt). I'm wearing them to a party on Saturday night and wondering if it's worth getting some of those gel things and they whether they do actually help.

They just made my feet hurt differently because my toes were crushed instead

Perhaps oddly, I put them in the backs of my shoes under my heel to stop 'crack heel'. I cant say I noticed any difference and it didnt work.

LOL BeenBeta, looked on here to see what you might be posting in response to the OP, wasn't expecting that answer!

I've worn them a few times and I don't really wear heels often. I tried for a wedding and I put them in at the start of the event and they made the shoes feel a bit tight and uncomfortable so I ended up taking them out but I've tried again, keeping them in my handbag til later on (different shoes) and when you get that tired feeling in your feet and would normally want to take your shoes off I found that they did help.

the only thing that stops uncomfortable heels hurting is the third glass of wine.

For me, yes they do work! I keep them in my fave heels (I rarely wear heels so I need the comfort).

In my experience, they don't work but vodka does.

I wore them in sandals and they helped a lot.

Thanks all. I bought some today and have just tried them in my shoes and don't think they make a jot of difference. I will, however, take them with me and see if Smac's idea works.

Failing that, I'm sure the alcohol will do it as suggested above or some barefoot dancing. Smile

I wore them once in open-toed shoes and as I walked I heard a flapping noise and looked down and they were flapping up and down under my toes like giant tongues.

I kept re-sticking them under my feet but they continued to make their escapes and in the end I binned them.
