here they're comfy and only practical. do you agree with him? i found it quite odd that he told me really and am a bit peeved.

GrimmaTheNome Thu 11-Nov-10 15:37:00

No, they're not horrible - they're the sort of boots which I wouldn't expect to generate any sort of comment at all.

But since when are dads arbiters of style? grin

theagedparent Thu 11-Nov-10 15:37:08

I've seen worse

tethersend Thu 11-Nov-10 16:19:09

I thought "dressed up like a dog's dinner' was a compliment until adolescence thanks to my dad grin

I wouldn't worry.

NorbertDentressangle Thu 11-Nov-10 16:23:58

They are really inoffensive, I can't see what the problem is.

My Dad always used to use the classic line " You're not going out dressed like that/wearing those are you?" whilst looking horrified. Even when I was an adult.

JiggeryPoverty Thu 11-Nov-10 16:24:24

Is your dad Gok Wan?

Then his opinion doth not count.

Ooopsadaisy Thu 11-Nov-10 16:25:22

I wonder what your Dad's boots are like.

Rockbird Thu 11-Nov-10 16:25:56

I've got similar, they're fine, they just cut off my circulation at the ankle! I never take any notice of my dad style wise. My mum told him once his style was 'seedy'

southeastastra Thu 11-Nov-10 16:44:39

thanks i'm still confused, i will have to ask him later what his objection is with them

JJ Thu 11-Nov-10 16:46:44

I thought "dressed up like a dog's dinner" was a compliment. In my defense I only heard it for the first time a couple of weeks ago.

What does it mean?

Have no idea why those boots would cause such a strong reaction in your dad, sea!

FranSanDisco Thu 11-Nov-10 16:56:03

Is he trying to be 'with it'? grin

Shammalamma Thu 11-Nov-10 16:58:28

they are a bit meh

TrillianAstra Thu 11-Nov-10 16:59:41

They are rather meh. Don't see why they would cause any kind of strong reaction.

LynetteScavo Thu 11-Nov-10 17:00:54

When did any one ever listen to their dad about fashion?

The boots are OK, BTW, I'd wear them.

southeastastra Thu 11-Nov-10 17:06:08

what's meh?

BitOfFun Thu 11-Nov-10 17:35:39

blah blah whatever, I think.

TheNextMrsDepp Thu 11-Nov-10 19:44:10

What do dads know??!

Mine goes all Kenneth Williams if I wear something remotely glam/sexy - "oooh, look at the length of that skirt, what a nice pair of legs, oooh matron!"blush

TheNextMrsDepp Thu 11-Nov-10 19:45:38

I like the boots, btw. I have a similar pair in brown, great with jeans. Won't set the world on fire, but perfectly fine.

southeastastra Thu 11-Nov-10 20:14:20

haha depp, i think i'm just confused how such a boring pair of boots could evoke such a reaction. oh well grin

cruelladepoppins Thu 11-Nov-10 20:56:44

Tchah! Dads, eh, what do they know?

verytellytubby Thu 11-Nov-10 22:45:15

Rockbird - laughing at 'seedy'

Popzie Thu 11-Nov-10 22:53:02

I do not like them at all. Where is the style? But funny you have posted them
