Following on from another fringe question, I wondered if people think fringes make ladies look younger?

I would love, love, love a full fringe but can't because of cowslick. I have a side fringe, but as my hair is wavy it takes lots of styling.

Also - does a straight side frings and wavy hair look ridiculous?

Sorry, lots of q's rolled into 1!!

no.

though they can reduce a larger forehead.

Yes, can make you long younger. Especially a long, sweeping side fringe. Sexy to boot!

They hide forehead wrinkles!

I think they can be really ageing, actually.

it depends on the person. if it would suit you anyway, great. if it's just a way to cover up wrinkles and give the momentary illusion you are a small child, no.

I think it is more to do with whether or not a fringe suits your hair type and your face. Had a fringe in the past but felt it only really looked OK if I was wearing my hair up... have just spent many months growing it out

I was going to ask this! I also have a cowlick and waves and want a full fringe...no hope though.Even a straightner won't ake it lie flat.

Choppy hair round your face, rather than pulled back, is flattering as you get older (IMO). Harsh hairstyles only suit the young and perfect of feature.

I got one recently after my hairdresser trying to talk me into it for ages. My cowslick was beginning to show slightly and now I have got rid of that problem.

Not sure on the looking younger, but it definitely brought my difficult to do anything with hair up to date - and is great for hiding eyebrows in need of a pluck!

I think they do make you look longer. I find a quick blast with the hairdryer and a going over with GHDs gets rid of the most stubborn curls/frizz.

I wanted a full fringe for years and kept getting fobbed off by hairdressers bent on giving me the 90's Rachel mummy do (which with my thick hair made me look like a bit like <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=www.nintendojo.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/art_superMushroom.jpg&imgrefurl=www.nintendojo.com/features/editorials/super-mario-rehab&usg=__bvc2HZzqV27ulgwpL9eIQfxjfZ0=&h=300&w=300&sz=15&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=gI_7V3Y1mJSUeM:&tbnh=140&tbnw=139&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dmario%2Bmushroom%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26biw%3D1680%26bih%3D901%26tbs%3Disch:1&um=1&itbs=1&iact=rc&dur=195&ei=C8nbTLXHO8mWhQfFqs3PAg&oei=C8nbTLXHO8mWhQfFqs3PAg&esq=1&page=1&ndsp=44&ved=1t:429,r:3,s:0&tx=51&ty=49" rel="nofollow noindex" target="_blank">this.

So a few years ago after a bottle of wine my mate did it for me and I've had it like this ever since!!

It suits my face and my wannabe pin-up kinda look. And yes I do think that in most cases fringes make you look younger!

Fringe conceals forehead wrinkles and the number 11s between the brows
