The ones suggested to me so far I can't find in the shops anywhere!

So all recommedations gratefully received and where you've been able to buy them recently. Spent ages reading the backs of bottles yesterday & today, struggled to find anything without lots of "cone" stuff in high up on the list.

Here is the link to all the currently available UK curly girl products.

Have to say though that I stopped doing curly girl last month after 18 months and the relief is ridiculous, never again!

I'm using tesco's jojoba & balsam on my dd's hair at the moment. The body shop has just brought out a range that it completely cg friendly (rainforest) I used the hair butter in her hair last night and it is lovely.

WhereTheWildThingsWere why have you stopped. I stopped recently because I was sick of having hair coated with product and looked like I had been dragged through a hedge backwards most days.
However now my hair is as dry and frizzy as it ever was. I need a middle ground.

I middle ground it!

I use the original source stuff, wash it with conditioner twice and rinse prob more than is suggested. I also use the shampoo whenever it feels manky, and use no product whatsoever.

My hair is very very curly and looks great!

if you can afford it use the Naked intensive care shampoo and intensive conditioner. Its amazing - through pricey.

Feeling particularly fed up with my hair today so came home from school run and gave myself an MN haircut, washed in conditioner and put my curly Pink Creme on again.
Hair looks great.
Hope I haven't burnt my boats as it's now too short to put up in any way so curls it will have to be for a while.
Naked doesn't look too bad expense wise so I might give it a go.

What is Curly Girl ? DD1 has a mass off curly but it's starting to drop and doesn't look as lovely and bouncy as it used to - want to get that back if I can

There is a proper thread somewhere, sadly baby girls do ofter drop out as they get older and hair gets heavier and longer.

I am wondering about CG method I have naturally curl hair early fifties. Hair is coloured but reasons for considering it is because I have a painfully dry itchy scalp. I have been on anti histamines suggested by GP for over 4 months for this. I am up the wall with the itching.
I struggle to read the label and not sure what I should be looking out for in terms of paraben free etc as the font is so small. I currently use moisture kick shampoo and alternate between this baby shampoo and nyzarol.
Any tips for itchy scalp would be appreciated.

For itchy scale have you tried Aveeno shampoo?

Also interested in learning about the CG method. DD has wavy hair and I have a very ugly wave at the back of my hair and my sides are straight. So I'm either curling badly or straightening.

No I haven't tried Aveeno is that paraben free and for curly hair? Welsh Moth have you tried the babyliss big heir it's great if you want a straight look and like me can't blow dry well or do the back of your hair. You need to practice and watch a few you tube videos but it gives good results.

Brighteyes27 Have you checked your hair for nits? Sorry if that seems off but I had a really itchy scalp and tried everything- turned out to be the beasties!

I don't love the CG method because I don't like leaving conditioner in my hair do I have a halfway house of using the Tresemme shampoo in the green bottle which is silicone free and then not brushing my hair afterwards. I put a little bit of Boots Curl Cream in if I can be arsed then leave it sopping wet while scrunching every so often. It's not as neat and glossy as co-washing and plopping etc but it's heaps better than the frizzy mess I used to have.

I have checked and had a chemist check and my GP I was convinced I had nits or fleas.

But that was a while ago when it first started being itchy

Brighteyes, ask your GP for betacap scalp treatment. It's a bit stripping to the hair, but calms a flaky weepy in my case scalp quickly.
You leave it on overnight, then wash in the morning. (When you can redress the oil balance.)

Wilko's are all CG safe I believe. I use EVO purple one which is the bee knees, typically cheap stuff doesn't work on me.
I too am a bit fed up of it, nearly a year later I'm still waiting for this transformation. I get that it's better than it was but I think that's down to not blow drying BUT it does look like wozzle gumage after one day, which is not bloody ideal
