Have you tried using google and typing in 'inequalities in education' (you don't need the ' ')? If you use google.co.uk you can request only UK-based info.

If you have access to Powerpoint there's an entire presentation \link{www.lancs.ac.uk/depts/celt/ sldc/education%20in%20the%20uk%202.ppt\here} abpt education in the UK although only the last ten slides or so really relate to inequalities.

There's some stuff here about gender differences with ICT - you need to be about page 8 to find Britain.

And have you seen this Ofsted report ?

Sorry I missed this - but just in case you find it interesting, did you know that back in the days of the 11+ they set a higher pass mark for girls than boys? And gave fewer grammar school places to girls? So girls were less likely to get into grammar school even if they were just as bright as boys?
