Can I actually teach myself?

Need GCSE science to teach in primary. No local courses at all. Can I teach myself with revision books?
It says on GTTR that I have to 'display' a knowledge at that level, not actually have passed the exam. So could this be a feasible route?

Have you looked at the distance learning courses for gcse's? Someone like ICS?

yes you probably could but it would probably look better on your application to have an actual qualification... sometimes they are advised as gcse equivilency course

How about teaching yourself with books at home, then sitting the exam at a local centre as an independent candidate? Quite a few people did this at my college a couple of years backsmile
