bump This is important info. ECITA advice here.

<< These are the numbers that should be on your charger and plug, if you are using a battery that screws into the charger (e.g. standard ego). If you can't see the images, the plug should show Output DC 5.0V, 500mA (or 0.5A) and the charger should show Output: DC 4.2V, 500mA (or 0.5A).

Anything that charges from a mini USB lead should have built in charging protection but even so, follow the manufacturer's instructions.

And, just so people don't get over-alarmed, a bit of context.
