Step mum feeling a bit low!

It's my birthday today.

I have a bad cold and am generally feeling pretty crappy.

Had a really nice night with DP yesterday but he's at work today and won't be back til very late this evening. And guess what I'm doing.....

Waiting for my DSC's to turn up. I have no idea when their BM is bringing them, either she hasn't told DP or DP's forgotten to tell me, despite me having texted him about it twice. Either way the result is I'm stuck here waiting.

The house is a complete tip as I've been busy or ill all week and haven't cleaned or tidied. And there's no food in the house so I will at some point have to trapse 3 kids around the supermarket, who incidently all had sleepovers last night so won't be in any mood to do so.

Feel like crying!

its sounds like you are being taken for granted here. Could you not text/call bm and ask her when she intends dropping them off? Why has your dp not let you know the arrangements? So many questions but here's another one.....how long have you been with your DP?

I've been with DP for nearly 4 years. To be fair to dp it's not really his fault. Their DM is not the most organised or reliable of people I'm afraid.

Anyway, dp did eventually find out when they were supposed to be arriving. They're here now, watching DVDs and about to get fish and chips.

I'm not really sure why DP's ex and me don't talk directly about the arrangements for DSCs. Not sure she would be too happy about it, although she is happy for me to look after them whenever it suits her. It is a bit crazy always having to go through DP, especially when he's at work.

Thanks though Jammi and echofalls. The kids have arranged a little 'surprise' party for me tomorrow so that will be fun but I think my birthday's pretty much been written off for today!

Damn well go out! You're not a baby sitter, you are a dman sight more important than that! The mother won't just leave them, she will have to hang on to them until your dh gets home and if she is a reaosnable woman it's him she will tear a strip off - as should you!

Another one here! ExW refuses to speak (or even acknowledge) me (or my children - who are her kids half siblings)

But she's MORE than happy for me to look after them when she has something better to do.

Thereagain, this is a woman who will scream blue murder to her kids if they don't call her at 7 pm precisely but thinks nothing of it if she doesn't pick up cos she's got something better on.

Best not to take it personally.
