I'm not a regular poster but I have been on a few times and its clear to you all from my posts and my partner and I have not had a good relationship with my step kids mother mainly around money and other things.
My last post I was moaning that she wanted to kids here half the time etc well things took a turn and sadly we have had a close family death and my partner has been off work for 2 weeks and will be a further 2 due to health risks now. I must admit she has been so understanding and explained to the kids why they cant be here a further 2 weeks and also about the death as it affects them also.
I got paid yesterday and as my partner well gave barely any pay we agreed I would transfer her the CSA monthly payment this month, she texted and said she wasnt expected it because of no work so we said it had come from me, she transferred it back and said thank you but it was fine and some things are more important and she would manage until his wages return in may. I made him send it back and just say regardless of anything we know kids are exiensive and especially being off school she shouldn't go without that money for them as we cant have them. She just said thank you its appreciated.
I just feel like hopefully this will be a new start of better relations and wanted to share for those that need a silver lining :)

I am sorry for the family loss and to hear your DP is unwell however this sounds really positive. I think you were right to send it back to her because as you said, children's costs don't go down when things happen.
