I don't know what is a surrogate parent is. What I'm saying with this question is that nothing to do with pregnancy. Can you tell me the definition?

You give birth to a child that is genetically somebody else's. After the birth the child is given to the biological parents.

Did you watch Friends? Phoebe had a baby that was made from her brother's sperm and his wife's egg then gave it to them after the birth.

I think If you're not relating it to pregnancy, then a different use of the term "surrogate parent", might be, someone who acted in the "parent" role for a child that wasn't their child, for whatever reason. Ie

"I practically lived at my friend's house when I was a teen - his mum fed me every evening, checked my homework and put a blanket over me if I fell asleep on the couch. She was like a surrogate parent to me."

A surrogate parent can be anyone who parents or has a parental role for a child instead of the biological parent. So step-parent, grandparent, uncle, aunt, neighbour, sibling etc
